BMW X5 Silver Anniversary Edition: A Tribute To 25 Years Of Innovation And Luxury
A special, limited-edition model commemorating 25 years of the BMW X5 has been announced. The BMW X5 Silver Anniversary Edition features the standard BMW Individual Lime Rock Grey metallic paint and includes the xOffroad Package, which offers 2-axle air suspension, underbody protection plates, and four drive modes for various terrains.
This edition is limited to approximately 1,000 units, with a Manufacturer's Suggested Retail Price (MSRP) of $79,900 plus $1,175 for destination and handling. The first BMW X5 was produced at the BMW Group Plant Spartanburg in South Carolina on September 1, 1999. Since then, nearly 3 million X5s have been assembled in Spartanburg for global markets.
The Silver Anniversary Edition is based on the 2025 X5 xDrive40i and enhances its off-road capabilities. It features unique styling details from both the Sport and M Sport Designs. Extended Shadowline Trim darkens the window surrounds, roof rails, fender-mounted Air Breathers, and the illuminated kidney grille.
Shadowline lights front and rear complete the exterior trim. The model also includes distinctive 20-inch M Star-spoke bi-colour wheels from the M Sport Package. The black and aluminium theme is complemented by the standard Lime Rock Grey metallic paint and a subtle Silver Anniversary Edition badge on the tailgate.
Inside, customers can choose from Black, Cognac, Coffee, or Silverstone Sensafin upholstery for the sport seats. Carbon Fibre trim embellishes the centre console and dashboard. The BMW Curved Display is powered by BMW Operating System 8.5 and enhanced by Live Cockpit Professional.
This includes a full-colour BMW Head-Up Display and BMW Maps navigation with Augmented Reality display. A Silver Anniversary Edition plaque adorns the compartment door ahead of the gear selector.
Advanced Off-Road Capabilities
The xOffroad Package is standard on this edition and adjusts vehicle settings based on terrain via the Driver Experience Control switch. Options include xSnow, xSand, xGravel, and xRocks modes. The system adjusts ride height, transmission shift strategy, throttle mapping, traction control, and other parameters accordingly.
The package also includes a mechanical rear differential lock and underbody protection plates. An xOffroad View in the central display informs the driver about ground clearance, roll tendency, and terrain inclination or downhill gradient. An xOffroad camera provides views of the terrain from all angles outside the vehicle at speeds below 22 mph.
Additional Features
Customers who order this edition will receive a discount on General Grabber All-Terrain tyres purchased and installed at their dealer. A roof rack system, BMW luggage compartment mat, and all-weather floor mats are also included to ensure readiness for any excursion.
Premium On-Road Comfort
The Silver Anniversary Edition is equipped with a Harman-Kardon Surround Sound System, heated front seats, armrests, steering wheel, remote engine start, trailer hitch, and Parking Assistance Package as standard features. Production will begin in very limited quantities in August 2024.
