BMW Of North America Announces Andreas Kindler As New CFO

BMW of North America has announced a significant change in its executive team. Andreas Kindler will take over as Executive Vice President and Chief Financial Officer starting August 1, 2024. He replaces Raymond Wittmann, who will return to BMW Group headquarters in Munich to lead the corporate strategy division.

Kindler brings nearly 25 years of experience with BMW Group. His career includes a previous stint in the U.S. as Planning and Reporting Manager at BMW of North America from 2006 to 2010. Additionally, he has served as Chief Financial Officer for BMW-owned retail outlets in Germany.

In his new role, Kindler will oversee financial operations, including finance and controlling, risk management, treasury, taxes, procurement, corporate strategy, compliance, and facility management. He will report directly to Sebastian Mackensen, President & CEO of BMW of North America, and join the Executive Board.

BMW of North America has been operating in the United States since 1975. The company’s presence has expanded to include marketing, sales, and financial services for BMW vehicles, motorcycles, MINI brand cars, and Rolls-Royce Motor Cars. Designworks, a strategic design consultancy based in California; a technology office in Silicon Valley; and various other operations are also part of their U.S. footprint.

Mackensen expressed confidence in Kindler’s capabilities: "Allow me to be the first to welcome Andreas back to the U.S. Not only does Andreas bring extensive experience in sales controlling and accounting, but he also has a strong understanding of the U.S. market and consumer mindset from his previous assignment here. Key Responsibilities

Most recently, Kindler was Finance and Compliance Director for BMW Group’s production plants in Oxford, Swindon, and Hams Hall in the UK. His responsibilities included financial steering, cost compliance, and integration. In 2020, he led the controlling function for BMW Group’s Chinese joint venture while heading digitization at group controlling.

The BMW Group sales organization is represented through networks of 349 BMW passenger car centers and Sports Activity Vehicle centers across the U.S., along with 145 BMW motorcycle retailers. Additionally, there are 104 MINI passenger car dealers and 38 Rolls-Royce Motor Car dealers.

BWM Manufacturing Co., LLC in South Carolina serves as the global center for competence for BMW X models. This facility assembles models such as X3, X4, X5, X6, X7 Sports Activity Vehicles as well as the BMW XM.

BWM (US) Holding Corp., located in Woodcliff Lake, New Jersey is the sales headquarters for North America.

This leadership change marks an important step for BMW of North America as it continues to strengthen its presence and operations within the United States market.
