Tytlers Cycle Racing And BMW Motorrad Achieve Victory At MotoAmerica Alabama
Woodcliff Lake, NJ – May 20, 2024… Cameron Beaubier and Tytlers Cycle Racing aimed to take the lead in the MotoAmerica Steel Commander Superbike Class at Barber Motorsports Park. Mission accomplished! No. 6 Beaubier started the first race from pole position, hoping to build on his previous 1st and 2nd place finishes at Road Atlanta.
However, on Lap 3 of the first race, Beaubier made an unusual mistake and crashed out, putting pressure on both the team and rider for the subsequent races. JD Beach, Beaubier’s new teammate, finished in 7th position on his No. 95 BMW M 1000 RR, while Sean Dylan Kelly of TopPro Racing secured 4th place on his No. 40 BMW.
In Race 2, Beaubier and Tytlers Cycle Racing bounced back to capture the win. Sean Dylan Kelly finished in 2nd place after starting from 6th position. Unfortunately, JD Beach experienced bad luck as he went off track on lap 8 and did not finish (DNF).
Beaubier and Kelly continued their strong performance in the third race of the weekend, finishing 1st and 3rd respectively. This moved Beaubier and Tytlers Cycle Racing into the points lead of the Steel Commander Superbike Series, with Kelly and TopPro Racing just behind in 3rd position. JD Beach is currently in 9th overall this season.
The second win of the weekend marked Cameron Beaubier’s 62nd Superbike victory, placing him second overall among all AMA Superbike winners in history.
In the Stock 1000 Series, three BMW riders finished in the top 10 of Race 1. No. 21 Nolan Lamkin from Visit Indiana/Tom Wood Powersports secured a close 4th place, just 1.1 seconds away from a podium spot. Jayson Uribe of OrangeCat Racing finished in 6th place, while Jason Waters of Edge Racing crossed the line in 9th.
Race 2 saw three BMW Customer Race teams again finishing in the top 10 with some new names leading the field. OrangeCat Racing teammates Jayson Uribe and Travis Wyman finished in 5th and 6th places respectively. Danilo Lewis from Team Brazil secured a top-10 finish by crossing the line in 10th place.
The next event for BMW Motorrad Motorsport Customer Race teams will be MotoAmerica Superbikes at Road America from May 31 to June 2.
