New BMW M5 Unveiled: A Powerful Hybrid Luxury Sedan

BMW has unveiled the latest generation of its M5 luxury sedan, which now features a plug-in hybrid powertrain, making it the most powerful M5 to date. The new model retains the 4.4-litre twin-turbo V8 engine but has an electric motor within the eight-speed automatic transmission, similar to the XM SUV. The combined system output is 724bhp and 1001Nm torque, sent to all four wheels via BMW's MDrive rear-biased all-wheel-drive system.

BMW M5 Performance and Electric Range

The new M5 can accelerate from 0-100kph in 3.5 seconds, despite being around 500kg heavier than its predecessor due to the added motor and battery weight. Top speed is limited to 250kph, but can be increased to 305kph with the optional M Driver's Package.

The BMW M5's impressive acceleration, despite its increased weight, is a testament to its powerful engineering. The option to increase the top speed with the M Driver's Package offers a thrilling experience for those who crave speed and performance.
