BMW M4 CS Launched In India At Rs 1.89 Crore – A New Benchmark
BMW has launched the M4 CS (Competition Sport) to the Indian market, marking the arrival of the first BMW CS model in the country. Priced at a starting point of Rs 1.89 crore (ex-showroom), the M4 CS not only elevates the brand's offering but sets a new benchmark for performance cars.
Positioned above the M4 Competition, it incorporates a host of mechanical enhancements aimed at delivering an unmatched driving experience. This launch heralds a significant moment for BMW in India, offering a blend of luxury, performance, and exclusivity.

Powertrain
The heart of the M4 CS is its 3.0-litre twin-turbo straight-six engine, which, thanks to an increase in turbo boost pressure from 1.7 bar to 2.1 bar, manages to churn out 550hp-20hp more than the M4 Competition.
While the torque output remains steady at 650Nm, it's available over a slightly wider range, from 2,750rpm to 5,950rpm, facilitating a more responsive and exhilarating driving dynamic. BMW has meticulously engineered the powertrain to withstand prolonged track use, enhancing its cooling system and oil supply to the clutch. This ensures that the vehicle's performance remains consistent, even under the most demanding conditions.

Performance and Handling Upgrades
In terms of performance, the BMW M4 CS takes the already impressive capabilities of the M4 Competition a notch higher. Weighing 20kg less due to the use of a titanium exhaust silencer and various carbon fibre-reinforced plastic (CFRP) components, the M4 CS boasts an improved power-to-weight ratio. This reduction in weight, along with stiffer engine mounts, enhances the car's agility and responsiveness.
As a result, the M4 CS can dash from 0-100kph in just 3.4 seconds, 0.1 seconds quicker than its sibling. Its top speed is electronically limited to 302kph, ensuring it remains both swift and safe. Additionally, BMW's Adaptive M suspension comes standard, further refining the vehicle's handling and driving dynamics.

Distinctive Design and Features
The design and interior features of the BMW M4 CS set it apart from the M4 Competition, showcasing its exclusivity and sporty pedigree. Externally, it distinguishes itself with yellow-tinted daytime-running lights, a kidney grille outlined in red, and striking bronze wheels.
Inside, drivers are greeted with an M-specific head-up display, featuring M-specific graphics, and unique M Mode and Setup buttons on the centre console for quick adjustments to the engine, chassis, and more.

The cabin is adorned with a flat-bottom Alcantara M steering wheel-optional on the M4 Competition-red 'CS' lettering on the centre console, M seat belts, and door sills that bear the M4 CS designation, enhancing its sporty appeal.
Furthermore, the M4 CS comes equipped with BMW's latest curved display, integrating a 14.9-inch touchscreen and a 12.3-inch digital instrument cluster, operated by the newest BMW Operating System 8.5.
Beyond its breathtaking speed and agility, the BMW M4 CS sports M Carbon bucket seats, elevating the interior's look and feel while providing exceptional support during spirited driving. This level of attention to detail extends throughout the vehicle, ensuring every aspect contributes to a comprehensive performance and aesthetic package.
The introduction of the M4 CS not only expands BMW's high-performance portfolio in India but also intensifies the competition in the high-end sports car segment. It stands as a formidable contender against the likes of the Audi RS5 and the eagerly anticipated C 63 S e-Performance from Mercedes. Priced Rs 36 lakh higher than the M4 Competition, the M4 CS represents the pinnacle of BMW's engineering prowess and its commitment to delivering exhilarating driving experiences.
