BMW M4 Competition M XDrive Launched In India At Rs 1.54 Crore: More Power & Other Upgrades

BMW India has just launched the M4 Competition M xDrive at Rs 1.54 crore (ex-showroom). This model, available as a Completely Built-Up (CBU) unit, introduces some fresh tweaks to its exterior and interior design, while also promising an enhanced power output.

Enhanced Performance & Power

The heart of the BMW M4 Competition M xDrive is its TwinPower Turbo S58 six-cylinder in-line petrol engine, now producing 522.75bhp—an increase of 19.7bhp from its predecessor. Despite this power boost, the torque remains unchanged at 650Nm.

The vehicle employs an 8-speed M Steptronic transmission to manage this power, enabling it to sprint from 0 to 100km/h in just 3.5 seconds. While the standard top speed caps at 250km/h, opting for the M Driver's Package can elevate it to 290km/h. Drivers can also tailor their driving experience with three distinct setups—comfort, sports, and track.

Subtle Yet Significant Design Updates

On the design front, the BMW M4 Competition M xDrive maintains its iconic look with minor tweaks. The most noticeable updates are to the LED headlights and taillights, featuring more arrow-shaped DRLs that also function as turn indicators.

Inside, the car spoils its driver with a choice between a flat-bottom leather steering wheel with a red stripe and an optional Alcantara microsuede steering wheel. The vehicle continues to boast dual-screen displays for infotainment and instrumentation, now upgraded to BMW Operating System 8.5.

The interior also sees a revamped instrument panel, new dashboard toggles for the HVAC vents, and enhanced ambient lighting. Noticeable features include a wireless charger, head-up display, smartphone integration, and a 16-speaker Harman Kardon sound system. Additional options include Driving Assistant Professional, Parking Assistant Plus with a 360-Degree camera and the BMW Drive Recorder among others.

Safety remains paramount with the inclusion of head and side airbags for the driver and front passenger, head airbags for rear seats, and an array of stability controls including Dynamic Stability Control (DSC), M Dynamic Mode (MDM), and the Active M Differential.

DriveSpark Thinks

The launch of the BMW M4 Competition M xDrive in India not only brings a slightly refreshed model to enthusiasts but also underscores BMW’s commitment to delivering performance-oriented luxury vehicles. With its enhanced power, refined design, and state-of-the-art technology, this car stands as a testament to BMW's engineering excellence.
