BMW And Kith Launch Exclusive Limited Edition XM And Apparel Collection At Art Basel Miami Beach
BMW and Kith have collaborated once more, marking their third partnership. This time, they focus on the BMW XM and its connection to the iconic BMW M1. The new high-performance plug-in hybrid Sports Activity Vehicle will be limited to 47 units globally. It will be available as the 2025 BMW XM by Kith, featuring unique design elements both inside and out.
The 2025 BMW XM by Kith will be produced in a limited run of 47 units, symbolising the years since the BMW M1's debut. Deliveries are set for the latter half of 2025. This edition will feature an exclusive BMW Individual Frozen Techno Violet metallic paint finish, inspired by historic BMW M models, or an alternative Frozen Black metallic option.
The exterior of the 2025 BMW XM by Kith showcases dynamic proportions with black side window graphics and accent strips. Model inscriptions and the Kith logo outline are finished in Techno Violet metallic. Standard features include 23-inch M light-alloy wheels in a star-spoke design with a Jet Black finish.
Inside, the sports car cockpit is enhanced with Kith's distinctive aesthetics. Illuminated door sills display a "1/47" insignia, highlighting each unit's rarity. Velour floor mats and the control centre feature the Kith monogram with BMW M stripes, while seat surfaces boast an embossed pattern.
The one-of-a-kind BMW XM Kith Concept will debut at Art Basel Miami Beach 2024 alongside Ronnie Fieg's custom 1981 BMW M1 E26. This concept car offers a glimpse into the forthcoming model's design, featuring unique lighting concepts and purple accents that match its exclusive paint finish.
Ronnie Fieg’s inspiration is evident in both exterior and interior designs of the concept vehicle. The concept features black backlit strips containing LED units that create a purple glow around Kith lettering when activated. Additionally, LED matrix displays project the Kith logo on headlight covers.
Kith for BMW Collection Launch
A new collection of apparel and lifestyle products from Kith for BMW will launch alongside these vehicles. The collection reinterprets classic BMW design motifs using colours like Techno Violet, Cinnabar Red, and Vitality Green. Items include jackets made from Italian leather, co-branded jumpers, hoodies, vintage-inspired T-shirts, and various accessories.
A highlight is a 1:18 scale model of the 2025 BMW XM by Kith featuring details from the edition vehicle. This miniature model can be ordered exclusively from the BMW Lifestyle Shop in limited numbers.
Historical Context: Reimagining a Classic
To provide historical context for these new models, Ronnie Fieg has reconstructed a unique version of the vintage sports car—the 1981 BMW M1 E26—featuring specific design elements from Kith’s repertoire. This includes Techno Violet paintwork and combined emblems on its tailgate.
The presence of both this vintage model and the new concept car in Miami Beach bridges decades of history between two exclusive BMW M models developed solely by the company over time.
