BMW India Celebrates Best-Ever Sales In First Half Of 2024
BMW India has achieved its best-ever half-yearly sales in the first half of 2024, surpassing expectations. From January to June, the company sold 6,734 cars and SUVs, marking a 23 per cent increase compared to the same period year. Including Mini 364 units, BMW Group India's total sales reached 7,098 units for the first six months.
SUVs continue to be the main contributors to BMW's sales in India. Over 3,600 SUVs were sold, making up 54 per cent of the brand's total sales in this period.

The BMW X1 emerged as the top-selling SUV, accounting for 19 per cent of overall sales. Meanwhile, the BMW 3 Series was the best-selling sedan, contributing 17 per cent to total sales.
BMW India's Best-Selling Electric Vehicles in 2024
In terms of electric vehicles (EVs), BMW Group India delivered 397 battery electric vehicles (BEVs) from both BMW and Mini brands combined. This means BEVs accounted for over five per cent of total sales. The all-electric i7 sedan was the best-selling BEV in the first half of 2024.

BMW Group India has also crossed a significant milestone by selling over 2,000 units of its BEV range. Notably, more than half of these sales are attributed to the BMW iX.
The company currently offers the widest range of BEVs among luxury carmakers in India, including models like iX1, i4, i5 M60, i7 and iX SUV.
Upcoming Launches from BMW India
The company is preparing for several launches in July. On July 24, BMW Group India will introduce the new-generation 5 Series Long Wheelbase and the new-generation Mini Cooper S.
Additionally, they will expand their BEV portfolio with the launch of the new Mini Countryman E and welcome their first battery-powered two-wheeler, the CE 04 electric scooter.

Vehicles classified under BMW's 'Luxury Class' – including the 7 Series, i7, X7 and XM – saw a growth of 17 per cent and contributed to 18 per cent of total sales. Among these models, the X7 was the highest-selling Luxury Class vehicle in the first half of this year.
The momentum gained by BMW India contrasts with other carmakers who expected a quieter year for sales compared to 2023. This growth highlights BMW's strong market presence and effective strategies in India.
The company's diverse portfolio and strategic launches have played a crucial role in achieving these record-breaking figures. With more launches lined up for later this year, BMW aims to maintain its upward trajectory in India's competitive automotive market.
