BMW i5 M60 xDrive Pre-Bookings Open – Electrifying The Premium Segment
BMW India has recently unveiled its plan to bring the electric luxury sedan, i5 M60 xDrive, to the Indian market. With pre-bookings now open, this vehicle is setting the stage for an electrifying entry.
Known for its robust performance, the i5 M60 xDrive offers an impressive 600bhp and 820Nm of torque. It's not just about power; the sedan promises a swift 0-100km/h acceleration in merely 3.8 seconds, coupled with a long-range capability of up to 516km on a single charge.
The i5 M60 xDrive will be imported into India as a Completely Built-Up (CBU) unit, ensuring a limited edition release. BMW India aims to start deliveries by May 2024, enhancing its portfolio in the electric luxury car segment.
This move is part of BMW's broader strategy to cement its leadership in this market, following the success of models like the BMW i7, BMW iX, BMW i4, BMW iX1, and the MINI SE.
Vikram Pawah, President of BMW Group India, shared his excitement about the pre-launch bookings. He emphasized the sedan's blend of elegant design, cutting-edge technology, and dynamic performance.
With a focus on expanding its electric vehicle (EV) lineup, BMW India's launch of the i5 M60 xDrive is poised to make a significant impact on the luxury car market in India.
Earlier this year, BMW India introduced a more powerful variant of the iX electric SUV, the xDrive50, priced at Rs 1.39 crore. The iX, BMW's first EV launched back in 2021, now offers two variants with the addition of the xDrive50.
This top-of-the-line variant is priced nearly Rs 29 lakh higher than the xDrive40, which is available for Rs 1.20 crore (ex-showroom), offering consumers more choices in the electric luxury SUV market.
