German luxury carmaker BMW has launched the i5 M60 xDrive in India. The BMW i5 M60 xDrive is priced at Rs 1,19,50,000, ex-showroom, India.
The BMW i5 is the all-electric version of the 5 Series executive sedan and the Bavarian carmaker has decided to bring it to India for the very first time in the M60 xDrive variant level.

The BMW i5 M60 xDrive is powered by a dual-motor (one on each axle), all-wheel drive setup that sends 592bhp and 795Nm of peak torque to all four wheels of the electric luxury sedan via a single-speed gearbox.
The all-wheel drive, fully electric setup of the BMW i5 M60 xDrive allows the electric executive sedan to sprint from 0-100km/h in an impressive 3.8 seconds. The top speed of the i5 M60 xDrive is electronically limited to 230km/h.

The dual motor setup draws power from a large 81.2kWh battery pack that delivers a range of 516 kilometres on a single charge as per the WLTP driving cycle. An 11kW AC charger is offered as standard which takes 8.5 hours to fully charge the battery pack on the BMW i5 M60.
A faster 22kW AC home charger is also offered with the electric i5 M60 as an option which halves the charging time. The BMW i5 M60 xDrive supports DC fast charging speeds of up to 205kW which allows for a 10-80 per cent charge in just 30 minutes.

In terms of design, the BMW i5 M60 xDrive features illuminated kidney grilles that are flanked by slim adaptive Matrix LED taillights with integrated LED DRLs. The electric version of the BMW 5 Series rides on 20-inch M light alloy wheels shod with 245/40 R20(front) and 275/35 R20 (rear) tyres.
The i5 M60 xDrive for India comes with the M Sport Pro package that finishes off the grille in gloss black, adds M-specific ORVMs and rear spoiler, along with black door sill panels, M Sport brake callipers finished off in red and M badges to the sedan.

Inside the cabin, the M Sport Pro package adds a 3-spoke M steering wheel with Walknappa Leather upholstery, an anthracite headliner and Veganza leather alternative upholstery which is seen in quilted and ventilated guise on the seats.
The cabin though is dominated by the widescreen curved display on the dashboard which features screens for the instrumentation and touchscreen infotainment with M-specific display setups. The setup is run by BMW's Operating System 8.5 system and the infotainment screen supports Wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay.
Other highlights of the BMW i5 xDrive's cabin include the large panoramic roof, Heads-up display and the Bowers & Wilkins surround system that features 18 speakers and an amplifier for a total output of 655 watts.
The BMW i5 M60 xDrive also comes packed with a host of safety features like six airbags, Attentiveness Assistance, Dynamic Stability Control (DSC) including Cornering Brake Control (CBC), electric parking brake with auto hold, side-impact protection, electronic vehicle immobilizer and crash sensor, ISOFIX child seat mounts.
The electric luxury sedan also gets ADAS systems like Cruise Control, Attentiveness Assistant, Parking Assistant Professional and the optional Driving Assistant Professional setup that includes Distance Control with Stop & Go function and the Steering and Lane Control Assistant.
