BMW Group In The U.S. Contributes $1 Million To American Red Cross For Hurricane Helene Recovery Efforts
The BMW Group in the United States has committed $1 million to the American Red Cross Disaster Relief Fund. This donation aims to aid recovery efforts following Hurricane Helene's destruction. The hurricane brought severe winds and rain to the southeast, particularly affecting the Carolinas. It resulted in extensive damage, historic flooding, and landslides that cut off entire communities from external assistance for several days.
BMW Manufacturing, based in Spartanburg County, South Carolina, employs over 11,000 individuals and supports numerous additional jobs through its supplier network across the Carolinas and Georgia. Dr. Robert Engelhorn, president and CEO of BMW Manufacturing, expressed gratitude towards the Red Cross and volunteers for their dedication to recovery efforts. He stated, "This donation will help the Red Cross give assistance to many in the Carolinas who are in need, including some of our own associates."

Dr. Engelhorn highlighted that many BMW employees were impacted by the hurricane. Thousands lost power, some experienced home damage from falling trees, while others had their homes swept away by floods. The company's contribution is intended to support both its workforce and broader community recovery initiatives.
The American Red Cross and numerous volunteers are actively working to provide care for those affected by this disaster. Their efforts are crucial in helping communities recover from the devastation caused by Hurricane Helene.
