BMW Group UK Achieves Fleet Manufacturer Of The Year At Business Car Awards 2024
BMW Group UK has once again excelled at the 2024 Business Car Awards, securing the Fleet Manufacturer of the Year title for the third year in a row. MINI also achieved significant recognition, with the all-new MINI Cooper winning the overall Business Car of the Year award. Additionally, BMW's i4, 5 Series, and X1 models each topped their respective categories.
The MINI Cooper emerged victorious in the small car category and was named overall Business Car of the Year. The model offers both electric and combustion-engine options. Judges praised its "simplified styling," "high-tech, retro-influenced interior," and "excellent" 250-mile range. Business Car noted that despite its high-tech makeover, it retains its premium feel.
MINI's new lineup includes the larger Countryman Electric and upcoming all-electric Aceman. These models offer impressive ranges of up to 287 miles and 252 miles on a single charge, respectively. The entire MINI range features advanced equipment like a circular OLED display and sustainable interiors. Company car buyers benefit from a low benefit-in-kind tax rate of 2% across all-electric models.
The BMW i4 continues to impress with its recent design updates, including revised headlights and optional Laserlight tail lights. It won Best Premium Car at the awards. Despite competition from other EVs and ICE-powered vehicles, none match the i4's electric range, driver appeal, or practicality with its hatchback design.
The BMW 5 Series maintained its position as Best Executive Car for the fifth consecutive year. Judges highlighted its versatility with options for EV, PHEV, or ICE powertrains. The model offers Touring estate versions and delivers an engaging driving experience while looking great inside and out.
The third-generation BMW X1 secured Best Premium Medium SUV for the second year running. Judges described it as an "attractive package" with a spacious interior and willing performance. Its accomplished range for EV and plug-in versions ensures low running costs.
Reflecting on these achievements, Matt Collins, General Manager of Corporate Sales at BMW Group UK, expressed pride in retaining the Fleet Manufacturer of the Year title. He acknowledged the dedication of their Corporate Sales team in meeting corporate customers' needs. Collins also celebrated MINI's recognition at this year's awards as a significant honour.
