Top 50 PGA TOUR Players Vie For FedExCup At BMW Championship In Colorado
The BMW Championship returns to Castle Pines Golf Club near Denver, Colorado, this week. The event features the top players on the PGA TOUR competing for the FedExCup Trophy. Among the 50 participants are world number-one Scottie Scheffler, world number-two Xander Schauffele, and Colorado native Wyndham Clark, ranked fifth globally.
Since its inception in 1899 as the Western Open, the BMW Championship has been a staple on the PGA TOUR. The tournament is hosted by the Western Golf Association and has seen victories from legends like Ben Hogan, Arnold Palmer, Jack Nicklaus, and Tiger Woods. This year’s event continues that rich tradition.
The Evans Scholars Foundation benefits greatly from the BMW Championship. All proceeds fund full college tuition and housing scholarships for young caddies nationwide. Since 2007, over $50 million has been raised, helping more than 3,300 students attend college. Currently, a record 1,190 caddies are enrolled in 24 universities as Evans Scholars.
During this week's tournament, BMW will award an additional four-year Evans Scholarship to the first PGA TOUR player who scores a hole-in-one. Last year’s recipient was Diana Llamas after Viktor Hovland's ace at the 2022 BMW Championship in Delaware.
The Gardner Heidrick Pro-Am kicks off today with notable guests playing for the Evans Scholars Foundation. NFL Hall-of-Famers Peyton Manning and John Elway join Colorado Avalanche Captain Gabe Landeskog and country music star Luke Bryan. Evans Scholars and Alumni caddie for each group, donating all tips back to the Program.
Luke Bryan also performed an exclusive live event yesterday evening as part of the festivities. This annual Pro-Am is a significant fundraising event for the Evans Scholars Foundation.
Hole-In-One Vehicle
This year’s tournament continues BMW's tradition of awarding a new car to any player who makes a hole-in-one on a designated hole during competition rounds. The first player to ace the par-three 16th hole will receive a new BMW M5 Touring. This model features a 717-horsepower hybrid drive system and combines performance with utility.
BMW Owners attending can enjoy this challenge from the comfort of the BMW Owners Pavilion overlooking the 16th hole. The Pavilion offers unparalleled views and exclusive hospitality benefits.
Guest Experiences at Castle Pines Golf Club
Fans attending have access to various interactive activities beyond watching golf. A key fob or Digital Key in the My BMW app grants owners premium parking and access to exclusive areas like the BMW Owners’ Pavilion with views of key holes.
The BMW Experience near the 11th hole invites all guests to participate in activities such as a unique putting challenge and sampling local food and beverages. A display of BMW's latest models includes plug-in hybrids like the X5 xDrive50e and performance-oriented X3 M50.
Enhanced Digital Access
The new Ultimate Experience Pass enhances guest experiences by streamlining registration processes through QR codes on event signage. This system reduces wait times and allows guests to check in at various activities around Castle Pines Golf Club efficiently.
