BharatBenz Launches New Heavy-Duty Trucks With Enhanced Engines In India

Daimler India Commercial Vehicles (DICV), a subsidiary of Daimler Truck AG, has introduced a new range of BharatBenz heavy-duty Rigid trucks in India. These trucks are powered by the new BharatBenz BSVI-Stage2 6.7-litre diesel engine, available in two configurations: 250HP with 950Nm torque and 306HP with 1200Nm torque. The trucks cater to various payload applications, including bitumen, bulker, and Petroleum, Oil & Lubricants (POL).

Enhanced Fuel Efficiency

The latest BharatBenz Rigid trucks feature the EFFI+ package and multi-drive mode functionality to improve fuel economy. Innovations like 'Minimal Parked Regeneration’ reduce fuel burn during downtime, while 'Auto Green Band’ maintains optimal engine speed for efficiency. Additionally, 'Auto Idling Shutdown’ conserves fuel by cutting off the engine during prolonged idling, and 'Harsh Acceleration Control’ prevents fuel wastage by limiting acceleration rates.

New BharatBenz Trucks Launched

The new models include configurations such as 2826R (6x2), 3526R (8x2), 3832R (8x2), 4232R (10x2), and 4832R (10x2). These options provide flexibility for customers based on their specific application needs.

Advanced Chassis Design

The newly engineered joggle frame chassis with riveted joints supports diverse applications like bitumen and POL. The trucks also feature Parabolic-type, grease-free suspension for enhanced durability and performance.

Mr Sreeram Venkateswaran, President & Chief Business Officer of DICV, stated, "With the introduction of our all-new BharatBenz Rigids, we are committed to supporting the evolving needs of the Indian transportation sector. These trucks are not just tools but reliable partners designed to navigate the dynamic world of logistics and transportation efficiently."

Long-Term Reliability

To ensure long-term reliability, DICV offers a 10 lakh km Annual Maintenance Contract (AMC) with these trucks. This underscores their confidence in product durability and commitment to minimizing total cost of ownership.

The BharatBenz Rigid range is designed to meet stringent EU ECE R29-02 cabin safety norms. Aerodynamically designed AC cabins help maintain vehicle momentum while comfortable sleeper berths support long-distance journeys. Advanced Driver State Monitoring systems use AI and computer vision to prevent driver distraction and fatigue. Mr Venkateswaran added.

The new BharatBenz Rigids lead in truck safety with features like advanced driver state monitoring systems that prevent driver distraction using AI and computer vision technology. The trucks also have a more powerful engine brake system that improves braking efficiency by 28% and reverse cameras for safer manoeuvrability.

The high-value propositions offered by BharatBenz include longer service intervals, an industry-leading manufacturer's warranty, and a 48-hour service/repair uptime through its 'Rakshana’ initiative.DICV has expanded its network to over 360 sales and service outlets nationwide and established relationships with more than 400 suppliers.

This extensive network ensures excellent service turnaround times for customers. The Multi-drive mode feature allows drivers to select between various operating modes tailored to different load conditions. This enhances efficiency during partial or no-load operations.

DriveSpark Thinks

DICV's new range of BharatBenz heavy-duty Rigid trucks brings significant advancements in fuel efficiency, operational flexibility, safety features, and overall cost-effectiveness for customers in India’s commercial vehicle market.
