Skoda To Reveal New Octavia RS At 2025 Bharat Mobility Show
The upcoming Bharat Mobility Show will feature the new Skoda Octavia RS and the Kodiaq SUV, marking their debut in India. The Octavia RS, known for its powerful performance, is expected to generate interest among enthusiasts. Skoda aims to gather customer feedback on the Octavia RS at this event. The car boasts a 2.0-litre TSI turbo-petrol engine, delivering 265hp and 370Nm of torque.
Skoda's Strategy for India
Skoda has previously introduced limited numbers of the Octavia RS models in India as Completely Built Units (CBUs). The RS 230 was launched in 2017, followed by the more powerful RS 245 at the Auto Expo 2020. These models were well-received despite their limited availability. The fourth-generation standard Octavia was assembled locally and sold from 2021 until it was discontinued in 2023 due to new emission norms.

The possibility of local assembly for the facelifted fourth-gen Octavia remains uncertain. If Skoda decides to assemble it locally, it might be priced competitively around Rs 30 lakh. This move could make the model more accessible to Indian buyers while maintaining its premium appeal.
Potential Market Positioning
In India, the Octavia is likely to carry either the 'Exclusive Selection' or 'L&K' nameplate, aligning with its premium market positioning. This strategy reflects Skoda's intent to cater to a segment that values luxury and performance. The brand's focus on offering high-quality vehicles is evident in these naming conventions.

The last two iterations of the Octavia RS were sold as CBUs in limited numbers. This approach allowed Skoda to test market response without committing to large-scale production. The upcoming display of the fourth-gen Octavia RS aims to gauge customer interest once again.
Future Prospects for Skoda
While local assembly of the facelifted fourth-gen Octavia remains a distant possibility, it could significantly impact pricing and accessibility if realised. Skoda's strategy seems focused on balancing exclusivity with broader market reach through potential local assembly options.

As Skoda evaluates customer feedback at the Bharat Mobility Show, it will inform future decisions regarding the introduction of these models in India. The company's approach highlights its commitment to understanding consumer preferences and adapting its offerings accordingly.
The introduction of these new models underscores Skoda's ongoing efforts to strengthen its presence in India by offering vehicles that combine performance with luxury features tailored for discerning customers.
