The Bharat Mobility Global Expo 2025 is set to be a significant event for India's electric vehicle (EV) industry. Key companies like Maruti Suzuki, Tata Motors, and Mahindra are anticipated to reveal new models and strategies. Maruti Suzuki's Electric Vision
Maruti Suzuki, India's largest car manufacturer, plans to introduce its e-Vitara electric SUV. This compact EV aims at the mass market, competing with Tata Curvv EV and Mahindra BE 6e. The company will also share its future EV plans, including models and charging infrastructure.
The Maruti Suzuki e-Vitara is constructed on its innovative Heartect-e platform for electric vehicles. This new model will feature two battery choices: a 49 kWh option for two-wheel drive and a 61 kWh variant available in both two-wheel and all-wheel drive configurations. Drivers can look forward to an impressive driving range of up to 550 km.
The e-Vitara's design is enhanced by striking Y-shaped LED daytime running lights and a modern dual-screen interior layout.
Tata Motors' Expanding Ecosystem
Tata Motors is expected to present the Harrier EV at the expo. Built on the Nexon EV platform, it promises over 400 km range per charge. Tata's focus extends beyond models; they aim to expand their EV ecosystem with charging infrastructure and battery-swapping stations.
The Harrier EV retains the rugged design of its ICE counterpart while offering a premium electric SUV option. This model will enhance Tata's electric vehicle lineup, providing customers with more spacious choices in the EV segment.
Mahindra's Bold Electric Plans
Mahindra is set to unveil the XUV 700 EV, based on the BE 6e platform. It promises over 500 km range per charge. Mahindra will also showcase other electric SUVs like BE 6e and XUV 9e, highlighting their commitment to India's EV market.
The XUV 700 EV will feature advanced technology and safety features from its ICE version. As a flagship model, it aims to compete with premium electric SUVs in India, reinforcing Mahindra's position in the market.
Beyond major automakers, the expo will feature diverse exhibitors showcasing innovations in battery technology, charging solutions, and autonomous driving. This event marks a crucial step for India's commitment to sustainable transportation and its potential leadership in the global EV market.
