Bharat Mobility Expo 2025: A New Era For India's Automotive Sector
The automotive industry in India is set to witness a significant change with the introduction of the Bharat Mobility Expo. This annual event, scheduled for 2025, will take place from 17-22 January across three venues in Delhi: Bharat Mandapam (Pragati Maidan), Yashobhoomi (India International Convention and Expo Centre, Dwarka), and India Expo Mart (Greater Noida).
Bharat Mobility Expo: A Unified Platform
Previously, vehicle and component expos were held separately by SIAM and ACMA. However, after the success of the first Bharat Mobility Event, the Ministry of Commerce and Industry decided to merge all automotive events under one umbrella. The new format aims to streamline the industry's showcase events into a single, comprehensive expo.
The Bharat Mobility Global Expo will feature a wide range of sectors. These include commercial and passenger vehicles, electric vehicles, auto components, tyres, battery and storage components, software integration, and construction equipment. This broad scope ensures that various facets of the automotive industry are represented.
Industry Participation and Support
Prominent figures from different automotive sectors will attend the event. Industry associations such as the Engineering Export Promotion Council (EEPC) India, Society of Indian Automobile Manufacturers (SIAM), Federation of Indian Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FICCI), and Associated Chambers of Commerce and Industry of India (ASSOCHAM) will actively participate. Their involvement highlights the event's importance for automotive enthusiasts.
Vipul Bansal, joint secretary with the Department of Commerce, stated, "Bharat Mobility will now act as an umbrella brand under which individual shows of various industry associations would be undertaken. While overall branding will be Bharat Mobility for the entire mobility value chain, each part of that value chain will retain its branding during the period at three locations."
Revamping Auto Expos
In recent years, the biennial Auto Expo and Auto Component Show were held at different locations in Delhi NCR. However, these events have seen a decline in participation from automakers. To address this issue, the government decided to replace them with the Bharat Mobility Expo. This new format aims to rejuvenate interest and participation in automotive exhibitions.
The decision to merge these events into one comprehensive expo is expected to bring more attention to India's automotive sector. By consolidating various shows under one brand, it aims to provide a more cohesive experience for attendees.
