Public votes were also considered through submissions on bestcarsoftheyear.com and at The British Motor Show.
Volkswagen's Golf was honoured with the Best Car of the Half Century award. This iconic model, introduced in 1974, remains a favourite even after 50 years. Following its debut at The British Motor Show, the Renault 5 is set to be a highlight at the Paris Motor Show in October.
The MG Cyberster was another standout at The British Motor Show. It won the Best Sports Car of the Year award due to its high-end appearance at a more affordable price point. MG expressed their honour in receiving such high praise from the Best Cars of the Year judging panel.
The Lexus LBX earned the title of Best Value Premium Car of the Year. Suzuki's Swift was awarded Best Affordable Hybrid Car. Dacia Spring emerged as the winner of the Best Bargain Car of the Year prize. These awards highlight efforts to make world-class models accessible amid rising showroom prices.

Public Participation in Voting
The public had an opportunity to influence voting by submitting their opinions on bestcarsoftheyear.com or visiting The British Motor Show stand. This inclusive approach allowed car enthusiasts to have a say in determining winners alongside expert judges.
The not-for-profit organisation behind these awards operates globally with offices in key car-producing countries like the UK, Japan, and South Korea. Their unique judging panel includes renowned car designers, engineers, industry leaders, journalists, broadcasters, and even a rock 'n' roll legend.
Renault also secured another accolade with its Renault 5 winning Best Electric Car of the Year from Best COTY. This recognition adds to Renault's celebration as they continue to innovate in electric vehicle design.
