Bentley Continental GT 2025: Where Performance Meets Luxury

Bentley has officially revealed the latest versions of its Continental GT and convertible GTC, which are based on the existing MSB platform but feature significant updates. The company claims these changes justify calling it a fourth-generation model.

Among the most notable updates is the introduction of a plug-in hybrid V8 engine, replacing the W12 engine that has powered the Continental since 2003.

New Design and Features

The new Continental GT retains its classic silhouette but departs from the signature twin-headlight design. Instead, it features singular oval headlights with an eyelash-style LED DRL, reminiscent of the Bentley Batur.

The grille now accommodates a radar dome and camera setup to support advanced driver assistance systems. The active rear spoiler has been replaced with an integrated spoiler formed by a more prominently flared boot lid.

The interior remains largely familiar, with signature elements like organ stop AC vent controllers and a triple-rotating centre panel. New features include an ADAS package with an 'environmental awareness' display, built-in apps like Spotify, wireless Apple CarPlay, and Android Auto. The car also supports pre-cooling or heating the cabin and seats remotely.

Hybrid Powertrain and Performance

The 4.0-litre V8 engine produces 600 HP and 800 Nm of torque, while the gearbox-integrated electric motor adds 190 HP and 450 Nm of torque. The combined output is 782 HP and 1000 Nm, delivered to all four wheels via an 8-speed automatic gearbox with active torque vectoring. The 2025 Bentley Continental GT can accelerate from 0 to 100 km/hr in 3.2 seconds and reach a top speed of 335 km/hr.

An all-electric mode allows for speeds up to 160 km/hr with a range of 80 km. The braking system includes possibly the largest cast iron brakes on any production car: 420 mm front and 380 mm rear discs. Suspension duties are managed by air springs and twin-valve dampers.

The latest model of the Bentley Continental GT is set to be released in India later this year, with an anticipated price of approximately Rs. 5 crores (excluding taxes).
