Bentley Americas Names Mike Rocco As New President And CEO In Strategic Leadership Shift
Bentley Americas has announced significant changes within its leadership team. Mike Rocco has been promoted from Vice President of Sales Operations to President and CEO of Bentley Americas, effective 28 May 2024. He succeeds Christophe Georges, who will return to the company’s headquarters in Crewe, England, as Global Sales and Marketing Director starting 1 June.
Christophe Georges, who has been with Bentley for over 25 years, will assume overall responsibility for brand and product strategy in his new role. Georges has held various positions within the company, including Director of Marketing and Product Strategy and President and CEO of Bentley Americas from 2007 to 2015 and again from 2019 to 2024. He holds a degree in Economic Science from Louis Pasteur University in Strasbourg, France.
Jan-Henrik Lafrentz, Member of the Board for Finance and IT, expressed gratitude for Georges' contributions. "On behalf of Bentley Motors, I would like to express my sincere appreciation to Christophe for the great work he has done to deliver on our strategic objectives in the Americas. We thank him for his leadership in the region and look forward to his return to Crewe to continue to steer the brand forward," said Lafrentz.
Mike Rocco's Promotion
Mike Rocco joined Bentley Americas in 2017 as Vice President of Sales and Operations. His responsibilities included sales field organization, ordering, allocation, distribution, sales training, dealer network development, and the pre-owned business. He was also involved in marketing, lead generation activities, and product pricing decisions.
Rocco brings over 30 years of experience in the automotive industry, having worked with several global automotive brands. He started his career as a management trainee immediately after graduating from Boston College and progressed through various senior management roles.
"Mike has deep relationships through the Americas retailer market and no one else is better primed for me to pass the torch to; I look forward to his leadership and continuing to work together in the future," said Georges.
Bentley Americas Market Performance
The Americas remained Bentley's top market throughout 2023, closing the year with 3,848 cars delivered. This accounted for nearly 30 per cent of Bentley's global sales figure of 13,560 cars. Bentley operates 60 dealerships across the Americas, with its corporate headquarters based in Reston, Virginia.
