While specifics on the battery are yet to be disclosed, anticipations are high for a more substantial power source than the 28.1kWh battery equipped in the 3-door Yep. The propulsion for the Yep Plus is provided by a 102hp motor mounted on the rear axle, pushing the EV to a claimed top speed of 150kph.

MG Motor India's portfolio is expected to be graced by the Yep EV SUVs, given the shared GSEV platform between Baojun models and the MG Comet EV. With MG Motor India having registered the Yep's design in mid-2023, the introduction of the 3-door version, codenamed E260, is anticipated by 2025. This model will likely spar with homegrown offerings like the Tata Punch EV.
Furthermore, MG Motor's parent entity, SAIC Motor, has fortified its commitment to the Indian automotive sector by forging a joint venture with the JSW Group.
