Automobili Pininfarina's Battista Targamerica: A New Era Of Luxury Electric Hypercars
Automobili Pininfarina has unveiled the Battista Targamerica, a unique electric hypercar. This one-off vehicle, commissioned by a car collector, will debut at The Quail during Monterey Car Week. It showcases the brand's philosophy of 'Dream Cars, Made Real' and is the first client-commissioned coach-built car from Automobili Pininfarina.
The Battista Targamerica features a striking silver and blue colour scheme. The design team collaborated closely with the client to create extensive personalisations. This includes a cigar holder and humidor built into the cabin, reflecting the owner's lifestyle. The car's name also references its roofless body style and its base country.
Paolo Dellachà, CEO at Automobili Pininfarina, stated: "This is a seminal moment, delivering our first coach-built one-off vehicle to a client. Battista Targamerica, like no other vehicle before, demonstrates the infinite possibilities our highly skilled team can design and engineer. Our world-class artisans have delivered something truly special – the first electric open top hypercar designed specifically to a very exacting client’s own specification."
The Battista Targamerica shares its performance credentials with the Automobili Pininfarina Battista. It boasts four independent electric motors and a 120kWh lithium-ion battery, delivering 1,900hp and 2,340Nm of torque. This allows it to accelerate from 0-100 km/h in under two seconds and reach speeds over 300km/h.
Andrea Crespi, Chief Technical Officer at Automobili Pininfarina, said: "Battista Targamerica is the result of unparalleled collaboration between our in-house design and engineering teams, as well as the client. This vehicle brings together superior on-road performance and stability, and a unique design. This commission forced us to challenge ourselves to deliver Battista levels of performance without the tensile support of a hard-body roof, pushing the team to deliver a creative, one-of-kind solution to meet our client’s needs."
Historical Inspiration
The design of Battista Targamerica draws inspiration from the 1986 Ferrari Testarossa Spider created for Gianni Agnelli. The silver exterior with blue detailing pays homage to this iconic car. The horizontal lines on the rear luggage opening are another nod to this historic model.

An exceptional vehicle that stands at the vanguard of performance and luxury. The gauntlet was thrown down for us to create something that uniquely represents the personality of this vehicle’s owner. This is the service we provide to clients, and the team has more than delivered. The result is our first coach-built one-off vehicle, a Targa that bears the badge of Automobili Pininfarina."
Attention to Detail
Inside, Battista Targamerica features tan leather upholstery with black accents on the steering wheel and dashboard. Bespoke headrests embossed with Automobili Pininfarina’s logo add a personalised touch. A tailored luggage set matches the interior leather.
The exterior includes Iconica Blu Gloss accents along with ceramic-polished alloy rims featuring black anodised aluminium centre caps. The rear underwing showcases hand-painted Iconica Blu pinstripes by an artisan.
Craftsmanship
Hand-built in Cambiano by artisans in collaboration with Pininfarina SpA., this car reflects its owner's individuality through meticulous craftsmanship. It took exactly one year from conception during Monterey Car Week 2023 to delivery.
Creating such bespoke vehicles highlights Automobili Pininfarina's commitment to luxury cars as an art form. With over 100 team members from more than 20 nationalities contributing their expertise in design and engineering.
