Automobili Pininfarina Reveals Battista Cinquantacinque: A Nod To The 1955 Lancia Florida
Automobili Pininfarina has unveiled a special edition of their Battista hyper GT, dubbed the Battista Cinquantacinque, in a nod to the 1955 Lancia Florida. This homage is not just in name but also in design, drawing inspiration from the car that was a personal favorite of Battista 'Pinin' Farina himself. The Cinquantacinque, translating to '55' in Italian, mirrors the elegance and innovation of its predecessor through its Blu Savoia Gloss body, Bianco Sestriere Gloss roof, and Brushed Anodised accents. The interior boasts Mahagoni leather, enhancing its luxurious appeal.
The Battista Cinquantacinque is not just about looks; it's a powerhouse on wheels. Equipped with four electric motors and a 120 kWh lithium-ion battery, it delivers an astonishing 1,900hp and 2,340Nm of torque. This enables the car to accelerate from 0-100 kph in just 1.86 seconds and reach 200 kph in 4.75 seconds. Moreover, it offers a driving range of up to 476 km, setting a new standard for electric hyper GTs.
Automobili Pininfarina's global expansion sees the Battista Cinquantacinque making its public debut in Tokyo, Japan. The company emphasizes a personalized client experience, ensuring each vehicle reflects the unique personality of its owner. Dave Amantea, Chief Design Officer at Automobili Pininfarina, highlighted that the design pays tribute to Pininfarina SpA's rich heritage while also influencing future models through the PURA Vision design concept.
The PURA Vision concept introduces design elements such as Lounge Doors that provide unrestricted access to the interior, reminiscent of the Lancia Florida sedan's rear-opening doors and absence of a B pillar. This bespoke approach by Automobili Pininfarina aims to blend classic inspiration with modern technology to create hand-crafted masterpieces.
With only 150 examples being crafted at the Pininfarina SpA atelier in Cambiano, Italy, the Battista stands as Italy's most powerful car ever designed and built. Its combination of performance, design homage, and bespoke craftsmanship marks a significant milestone for Automobili Pininfarina as they continue to innovate in the luxury electric vehicle market.
