Automobili Lamborghini Showcases Heritage And Innovation At Chantilly Arts & Élégance 2024
The "Chantilly Arts & Élégance Richard Mille" event, held on 15 September, is a key highlight in the French automotive calendar. This year, Lamborghini captured significant attention with its impressive display and special celebrations. The event featured the Concours d’Élégance and Concours d’État, along with exclusive rallies through picturesque countryside, showcasing both current models and heritage cars.
Central to Lamborghini's exhibition were its first two hybrid production models: the Super SUV Urus SE and the Revuelto. These vehicles signify a new chapter for Lamborghini, reflecting its dedication to innovation and sustainability. They are pivotal in the brand's Direzione Cor Tauri strategy, aimed at decarbonising future models while maintaining performance and design excellence.
The Lamborghini Countach was a focal point of celebration at Chantilly. The very first Countach LP400 was displayed, brought from the Sant'Agata Bolognese Museum. Alongside it was a rare 25th Anniversary edition, certified by Lamborghini’s Polo Storico and kept in pristine condition. A dedicated class within the Concours d'Elegance showcased an impressive collection of Countach cars.
The Countach LP400 Chassis 0001, built in 1974, was a standout in Lamborghini's heritage display. This car exemplifies Lamborghini’s engineering excellence and its impact on supercar evolution over five decades. The Concours d’Élégance saw manufacturers present their rarest models, with Lamborghini showcasing a Countach 25th Anniversary model that debuted in 1988 to mark 25 years of Automobili Lamborghini.
Alessandro Farmeschi, Lamborghini's After Sales Director, expressed his delight at participating in this memorable event. He stated: "It was a special privilege for me to take part in this memorable event and meet our clients and international collectors in such a special location." He highlighted Polo Storico's role in preserving Lamborghini's history through archiving, certifying, and restoring past cars.
Celebrating Countach's Legacy
This year's Concours d’État included a special class to celebrate 50 years since Countach production began. It featured four rare examples: LP 400, LP 400 S, and 5000 Quattrovalvole. The event underscored the growing trend of valuing officially preserved classic cars like the meticulously maintained Countach 25th Anniversary.
The Urus SE boasts combined fuel consumption of 2.08 l/100km and power consumption of 39.5 kWh/100 km. Its CO2 emissions are rated at 51.25 g/km with an efficiency class B rating. Meanwhile, the Revuelto has combined fuel consumption of 11.86 l/100km and power consumption of 10.1 kWh/100 km, with CO2 emissions at 276 g/km.
Lamborghini continues to pave its path towards sustainability without sacrificing its renowned driving experience or design aesthetics. The unveiling of the hybrid bi-turbo V8 supercar Temerario further illustrates this commitment to an environmentally responsible future.
