Major Automobile Manufacturers Set To Launch New 7-Seater Vehicles In India
Automobile manufacturers are setting their sights on the Indian market with an array of new 7-seater vehicles scheduled for release within the next three months. Among the prominent names gearing up for these launches are Kia, Jeep, BYD, and JSW MG.
These upcoming models aim to cater to the varied preferences of Indian consumers, spanning different segments from luxury options to more affordable family cars.

Starting with the Jeep Meridian facelift, this model is expected to hit the market by late 2024. It promises a series of mid-cycle updates including visual enhancements and a more sophisticated interior equipped with Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS).
The facelift will feature a redesigned grille, updated front and rear bumpers, and new alloy wheel designs. Despite these changes, the performance metrics of the Jeep Meridian are anticipated to stay the same, ensuring continuity in the driving experience.
New Kia Carnival and Kia EV9 on the Horizon
Furthermore, Kia is introducing two major models to the Indian market. The all-new Kia Carnival is set to make its debut on October 3, marking a significant upgrade over its predecessor with a completely refreshed exterior and interior, adhering to Kia's newest design philosophy.
The Carnival will maintain the familiar 2.2L diesel engine paired with an eight-speed automatic transmission and will be available in the exclusive Limousine trim. This model will be fully imported, and pre-bookings have already commenced.

In addition to the Carnival, Kia is also launching the EV9, scheduled for an October 3, 2024 release. This flagship electric SUV will be introduced as a complete import in the GT-Line AWD configuration.
Despite the global availability of a seven-seater variant, India will exclusively receive the six-seater model. The EV9 is constructed on Kia's E-GMP skateboard platform and will feature premium amenities including a 12.3-inch touchscreen and digital instrument cluster, panoramic sunroof, wireless charging, and ADAS.
MG and BYD Enter the Fray with New Models
MG is preparing to launch the facelifted version of the Gloster, which will showcase significant design and interior updates while maintaining the current engine and transmission configurations.
The Gloster aims to rival the Toyota Fortuner, continuing MG's strategy to expand both its ICE and electric vehicle (EV) lineup in India over the coming years. The recent introduction of the Windsor EV underscores MG's commitment to growing its portfolio in the country.

BYD is introducing the eMax 7, the updated version of the e6 MPV, now renamed for the Indian market. Already available in Indonesia as the M6, the eMax 7 will feature exterior modifications and an upgraded interior loaded with additional equipment. Set for a launch next month, this electric MPV opens for pre-bookings, highlighting BYD's efforts to strengthen its presence in India's electric vehicle sector.
With the automotive industry's focus increasingly shifting towards more spacious and versatile vehicles, these upcoming 7-seater models from Kia, Jeep, BYD, and MG represent an exciting phase for Indian consumers. Offering a mix of luxury, electric, and family-friendly options, these launches are poised to meet a wide range of consumer needs and preferences.
The next three months promise an exciting lineup of 7-seater vehicles from some of the world's leading automakers. This expansion into the Indian market reflects the growing demand for larger, more versatile vehicles, catering to diverse consumer segments. Whether it's electric mobility, luxury, or practical family transportation, these upcoming models are set to offer something for every type of buyer, further enriching India's dynamic automotive landscape.
