Car Manufacturers Announce Price Hike In January: Maruti Suzuki To Mercedes-Benz
As we approach the end of the year, it's become a tradition for car manufacturers to adjust their prices, and this year is no exception. From the beginning of January 2025, many leading automotive brands have announced that they will be increasing the prices of their vehicles.
This move is largely attributed to the escalating costs of commodities and operational expenses that these companies face. Among those announcing adjustments are some of the industry's biggest names, each with a unique approach to the impending price changes.

Maruti Suzuki
Maruti Suzuki, a giant in the automotive sector, has disclosed its intentions to adjust the prices of its vehicles by as much as 4 percent. This revision will not be uniform across the board but will vary depending on the model.
Audi
Audi India has made public its plans to increase the prices of its diverse lineup of cars and SUVs by 3 percent. Audi's range in India is extensive, including locally assembled models like the A4 and A6 sedans, as well as the Q3, Q3 Sportback, Q5, and Q7 SUVs. Additionally, the brand offers imported models such as the A5 Sportback, the Q8 SUV, and its electric variants, the e-tron GT and RS e-tron GT, to the Indian market.

Hyundai
Hyundai India is also on the list, with a declared price adjustment of up to Rs 25,000 across its entire range. The brand, renowned for its diverse portfolio including the Venue, Creta, and the Exter, along with the high-end Ioniq 5 EV, is poised to unveil the Creta EV shortly.
BMW/Mini
BMW India has announced a price revision of up to 3 percent across its portfolio, encompassing a wide range of locally assembled models like the 2 Series Gran Coupe, the 3 Series Gran Limousine, and the M340i, among others. BMW also offers imported electric vehicles and SUVs, including the i4, i5, i7, iX1, and iX, in addition to performance models such as the Z4, M2 Coupe, M4 Competition, and the recently launched M5.
Mini India, a subsidiary of BMW, has indicated a price increase for its lineup from January 1, though the specific details of the hike have yet to be disclosed. The brand is known for its British heritage and offers a variety of models in the Indian market.
Nissan
Nissan, on the other hand, has limited its price hike to the recently updated Magnite SUV, which will see a 2 percent increase. The Magnite is Nissan's flagship made-in-India SUV, available both domestically and in international markets. However, there has been no mention of a price adjustment for the X-Trail SUV.

Mercedes-Benz
Mercedes Benz India was among the first to announce a price increase this year, with adjustments of up to 3 percent across its model range. Notably, the price of the GLC will see a Rs 2 lakh increase, while the Mercedes-Maybach S680 V12 will become Rs 9 lakh more expensive. However, Mercedes has assured that vehicles manufactured by December 31, 2024, including those booked before this date, will not be subject to the price hike.
