Austin Pedal Cars Collaborates With Savile Row Clothmaker Holland & Sherry To Launch Unique J40 Continuation
Austin Pedal Cars has teamed up with renowned Savile Row clothmaker Holland & Sherry to create an exclusive Austin J40 Continuation pedal car. This unique collaboration will be showcased at the 2024 Concours on Savile Row event, scheduled for 22nd – 23rd May. The partnership brings together two iconic British brands, both steeped in history.
Founded in 1836, Holland & Sherry has been a supplier of fine cloths to bespoke tailors, haute couture designers, and luxury brands worldwide. The company began as woollen merchants at 10 Old Bond Street, London, before moving to Savile Row in 1982. This collaboration with Austin Pedal Cars marks a significant milestone for both brands.
The Austin J40 Continuation is a modern take on the classic J40 pedal car. It features a hand-formed aluminium body and a lightweight pedal system, making it both visually appealing and functional. The bespoke interior is finished with Holland & Sherry cloth, including a tailored seat and handbrake gaiter that match the car's turquoise paintwork.
In addition to the interior, the cloth has been used to trim various unique accessories such as a leather satchel and tool-roll. While designed as a child's pedal car, the J40 Continuation is also suitable for private automotive collections or as a decorative art piece.
This collaboration launches a bespoke design programme for the Austin J40 Continuation. Owners can customise their cars with an almost unlimited colour palette and various interior finishes, including Holland & Sherry cloths. This programme allows for personalised elements to be specified, making each car unique.
