Audi Sport GmbH Elevates Luxury With High-Performance RS Q8 SUV Models
With 640PS and 850Nm of torque, the new RS Q8 SUV performance takes the top position among models from Audi Sport GmbH. An expressive exterior and new, lighter wheels significantly sharpen the appearance of Audi’s most powerful SUV yet again. High-calibre suspension components blend dynamics and comfort and guarantee outstanding suitability for everyday use.
Audi is expanding its Q8 SUV range with the new RS Q8 SUV, boasting an output of 600PS. Additionally, a second version, the RS Q8 SUV performance, has been introduced. This model's increased output of 640PS makes it the most powerful series-produced combustion model in Audi Sport GmbH’s history. Both vehicles offer exceptional driving dynamics thanks to an optimized self-locking centre differential while ensuring impressive everyday usability.
The new RS Q8 SUV impresses with an output of 600PS and 800Nm of torque available between 2,200 and 4,500rpm. The twin-turbocharged eight-cylinder engine ensures outstanding driving dynamics. The RS Q8 accelerates from 0-62mph in just 3.8 seconds, with a top speed electronically limited to 155mph. The RS Q8 SUV performance, with its increased output of 640PS and 850Nm of torque, accelerates from 0-62mph in just 3.6 seconds and can reach a top speed of 174mph.
Both versions come standard with permanent quattro all-wheel drive combined with an eight-speed tiptronic transmission featuring faster shifting times. The wholly mechanical centre differential distributes engine power to the front and rear axles at a ratio of 40:60. If slippage occurs, up to 70 percent of the drive torque is applied to the front axle and up to 85 percent to the rear axle.
The exterior design of both the RS Q8 SUV and RS Q8 SUV performance is inspired by the recently upgraded Q8 SUV. A new front apron with striking air intakes, a distinctive honeycomb structure, and a blade in high-gloss black (matte grey for the performance version) clearly identify these models as top-tier offerings from Audi Sport GmbH.
The rear section also emphasizes their premium status with two oval tailpipes characteristic of an RS model. A diffuser placed between them is divided down the middle by a reflector.
Suspension Setup
For optimal sportiness and comfort balance, both models come standard with adaptive air suspension sport featuring controlled damping specifically tuned for the RS line. The ride height varies by up to 90mm across both versions. Electromechanical active roll stabilization (eAWS) significantly minimizes lateral body movements during cornering or on uneven roads.
The eAWS system uses a compact electric motor between stabilizer halves on each axle to reduce lateral tilt during cornering by turning stabilizers in opposite directions. A 48V lithium-ion battery powers this system, supplying up to 1.5 kW per motor.
Interior Features
The interior offers red or grey contrasting stitching on various elements like floor mats and steering wheel edges through different RS design packages available in red or grey options. The blue package exclusive to the RS Q8 SUV performance features Ocean Blue seat belts entirely made from recycled PET fibers covering Alcantara steering wheels.
