Audi Q6 E-tron: India's Next Premium Electric SUV Spied
The Audi Q6 e-tron has been spotted in India for the first time. The near-production model, with minimal camouflage, was seen on the outskirts of Mumbai. This sighting suggests that the electric SUV might be launched later this year or in early 2025.
The India-bound Q6 e-tron is anticipated to come in a rear-wheel-drive configuration. It will be powered by an 83kWh battery pack. This differs from the international Quattro variant, which features a 100kWh battery and two electric motors, producing a combined output of 388 HP.

Design and Features
The test vehicle resembled the international model, showcasing Audi's understated design. It featured separated headlights, daytime running lamps, and tail lights with customisable animated patterns.
Unique to the Indian model were distinct alloy wheel designs and a silver finish around the front fog lamps and rear bumper.

While specific range and output figures for the Indian model are not yet disclosed, it is expected to support charging capabilities similar to the international version.
The 100kWh battery of the international model can charge from 10 to 80 percent in just 21 minutes using a 270kW charger. Despite its smaller battery, the India-spec Q6 e-tron is anticipated to offer comparable charging efficiency.
Platform and Pricing
The Q6 e-tron will be built on the Premium Platform Electric (PPE) architecture, shared with the Porsche Macan EV. This positions it between models like the Volvo XC40 Recharge and BMW iX1 on the lower end, and the Audi Q8 e-tron, Mercedes EQE SUV, and BMW iX on the higher end in terms of size and pricing.
The expected price range for the Q6 e-tron in India is between Rs. 70 lakhs and Rs. 80 lakhs (ex-showroom). This competitive pricing is likely to attract a broad range of buyers looking for premium electric SUVs.

The sighting of the Audi Q6 e-tron in India marks a significant step towards its launch. With its competitive pricing and advanced features, it is poised to make a strong impact in the Indian electric SUV market.
