Audi And Fantic Unveil New Electric Mountain Bike For Premium Off-Road Adventures
Audi has recently unveiled a new addition to its e-mobility lineup, a limited-edition electric-assist mountain bike (eMTB), in collaboration with Fantic. This innovative product draws inspiration from the Dakar Rally-winning RS Q e-tron racecar, showcasing Audi's commitment to blending performance with sustainability. The eMTB is now available through Audi Genuine Accessories, marking a significant step towards the company's goal of electrifying at least 30% of its U.S. model lineup by 2025.
The design of the eMTB emphasizes both aesthetics and functionality. It features a lightweight aluminum frame designed for a relaxed riding position, enhancing comfort across various terrains. The bike is equipped with a mixed wheel setup, top-quality suspension components, a 1x12 drivetrain, and a high-performance braking system to ensure optimal performance. Additionally, the eMTB offers four levels of electrical assistance, catering to different riding conditions and preferences.
At the heart of the eMTB is a 250-watt motor powered by a battery seamlessly integrated within the frame. This setup provides an estimated battery range of 12 to 90 miles, depending on the ride conditions. Riders can monitor their assist level, battery charge status, and speed through a digital display mounted on the handlebars.
Set for delivery in the summer of 2024, the Audi eMTB is priced at $9,795. Alongside the bike itself, Audi is offering an array of branded accessories and compatible bike racks, allowing customers to fully personalize their riding experience. This launch aligns with Audi's broader environmental commitment to achieving net CO2 neutrality by 2050.
