Antron Brown Clinches Fourth NHRA Top Fuel Championship At Pomona Dragstrip

Antron Brown clinched his fourth NHRA Mission Foods Drag Racing Series Top Fuel world championship at the In-N-Out Burger Pomona Dragstrip. This victory marks Brown's first title since 2016 and adds to his previous wins in 2012 and 2015. Toyota celebrated its eighth Top Fuel title since joining the category in 2007, with Brown securing six race wins and 33 round victories over 20 events this season.

Brown's achievements contribute significantly to Toyota's legacy in NHRA Top Fuel racing. His previous championships in 2012, 2015, and 2016 are complemented by titles from Larry Dixon in 2010, Del Worsham in 2011, Shawn Langdon in 2013, and Doug Kalitta in 2023. This latest win also marks the first world championship for Brown's AB Motorsports, established in 2022.

Throughout the season, Brown triumphed at various tracks including Route 66 Raceway in May, Summit Racing Equipment Motorsports Park in June, Sonoma Raceway in July, Maple Grove Raceway and zMAX Dragway both in September, and finally at Pomona Dragstrip in November. Each time he reached the final round, he emerged victorious.

With his latest success, Brown has moved into second place all-time for Top Fuel victories with a total of 64 wins. All these victories have been achieved as part of the Toyota family, making him their most successful NHRA racer. He is now one of only four drivers to have won at least four Top Fuel world championships.

"It’s all right here with this Mission Foods (championship) trophy! When everybody sees that AB Motorsports logo, it has that cross in the middle, all the glory goes to God," said Antron Brown. "He gives us the strength to make this happen and to do it because I didn’t have the faith in myself to do it."

Team Effort Behind Success

Brian Corradi, crew chief for Matco Tools Toyota Top Fuel Dragster at AB Motorsports praised Brown's dedication: "All the glory goes to the number one himself, God. Antron Brown is the most deserving guy out here." Corradi also expressed sadness over co-crew chief Mark Oswald’s departure but remained optimistic about their future.

Paul Doleshal from Toyota Motor North America highlighted Antron’s impact on NHRA history: "Antron Brown has been a staple of Toyota Racing for many years...having him within the Toyota Racing family has been and continues to be a tremendous honor for our organization."
