American Honda Sees 8% Jump In July Auto Sales With Electrified Models Leading

American Honda's sales in July reached 120,737 units, driven by a balanced mix of cars, light trucks, and electrified models. The Honda brand alone surpassed 109,500 units for the month, marking the sixth consecutive month with sales over 100,000 units. Year-to-date, the brand has seen an increase of nearly 12%.

Sales of Honda's electrified vehicles topped 27,600 units in July. This growth was led by hybrid-electric versions of the CR-V and Accord, along with the newly launched Civic and Prologue EV. The Prologue alone sold 3,458 units as awareness and national rollout efforts intensified.

The CR-V continued its strong performance with over 34,000 units sold in July. This marks the sixth straight month where sales exceeded 30,000 units. Notably, nearly half of these sales were hybrid models.

Light truck sales saw a significant boost of 16.5% month-over-month, totalling 75,362 units in July. The Pilot led this category with 12,109 units sold. The HR-V followed closely with 11,928 units and the Ridgeline posted its best month of 2024 with 4,148 units sold.

The Civic also maintained strong sales figures, exceeding 20,000 units for the sixth consecutive month. Combined sales of the Accord and Civic surpassed 34,000 units in July. Hybrid versions of the Accord accounted for 51% of its total sales.

Acura's Performance

The Acura brand experienced a rise in sales to 11,186 units in July. This was one of its best months this year. The MDX and RDX models together sold over 7,800 units; specifically, the RDX logged 4,013 units while the MDX totalled 3,845 despite limited supply as the refreshed 2025 model began reaching dealers.

All-electric ZDX sales continued to grow as it was rolled out nationwide. The ZDX Type S represented nearly a quarter of these sales in July. Additionally, Integra sales topped 2,000 units for the sixth consecutive month and captured over half of its class’s market share.

Year-to-Date Totals

Year-to-date (YTD) figures for American Honda show a total of over 811,018 units sold—a rise of 9.1%. Car sales accounted for approximately 265,181 units (up by 2.3%) while truck sales reached about 545,837 units (an increase of nearly 12.8%).

In contrast to last year’s figures for July alone: car sales dropped by about 6.5%, totalling around 36,823 units; however truck sales saw a significant rise by approximately16%, reaching about83 ,914units .

The monthly breakdown reveals that American Honda's overall total stood at approximately120 ,737units—an increaseof8%. Cars contributed around36 ,823units—a decreaseof6 .5%—while trucks added up to83 ,914units—an increaseof16%.
