All-New Ford Expedition For 2025: A Family-Focused Redesign With Advanced Technology And Off-Road Capability
The 2025 Ford Expedition lineup has been introduced, designed to cater to active families with its spacious interior, advanced technology, and enhanced versatility. This new model offers a unique family command center experience with a 24-inch panoramic digital display and seamless connectivity options like wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. The Expedition TREMOR is the most off-road capable version yet, featuring four-wheel drive, underbody shielding, and 33-inch all-terrain tires.
Ford's latest Expedition models are available in both standard-wheelbase and extended-length versions known as Expedition MAX. These SUVs offer comfort, roominess, and connectivity while incorporating modern design elements for improved cargo storage and a reimagined cabin experience. The lineup includes models like Active, King Ranch, and Platinum, each equipped with a 3.5-liter EcoBoost V6 engine delivering 400 horsepower.
The Ford Digital Experience enhances the driving experience by providing driver-specific profiles and access to favourite apps. A 24-inch panoramic display replaces the traditional gauge cluster, positioned near the windshield's lower edge for better road visibility. Google Assistant serves as the default voice assistant, with Alexa Built-in available for various in-vehicle controls.
The Ford Connectivity Package allows owners to use Wi-Fi hotspot capabilities and access Google Play apps seamlessly. This package supports up to ten personal devices within a 50-foot range. Families can enjoy streaming music or watching videos on apps like YouTube while parked.
The new Ford Split Gate combines the functionality of an SUV liftgate with a pickup truck tailgate. It supports up to 500 pounds and transforms into a serving table with power outlets nearby. The Flex Powered Console provides easy storage access for front and second-row passengers by sliding back nearly eight inches.
For those who enjoy outdoor activities after dark, the Expedition offers exterior zone lighting with four zones surrounding the vehicle. This feature is controlled through the redesigned infotainment system, allowing users to select specific zones for illumination.
Off-Road Capabilities
The first-ever TREMOR model in the Expedition lineup is built for off-road adventures. It boasts a ground clearance of 10.6 inches and rides on 33-inch General Grabber all-terrain tires. The TREMOR is powered by a high-output 3.5-liter EcoBoost V6 engine producing up to 440 horsepower.
This model includes features like Rock Crawl Mode and Trail Turn Assist for enhanced off-road performance. "TREMOR is the pinnacle of Expedition adventure-ready capability," said Adrian Aguirre, Expedition Chief Engineer.
Towing Technology
The new Expedition offers comprehensive towing capabilities with features like Pro Trailer Hitch Assist™ that simplifies hitching a trailer using rear cameras and radars. When properly equipped, it can tow up to 7,000 pounds without a load-leveling bar or up to 9,600 pounds with a weight-distributing hitch.
BlueCruise hands-free highway driving technology is now available across nearly 90% of Expedition models. This feature provides smoother driving experiences with options like Lane Change Assist and In-Lane Repositioning for added convenience during long journeys.
Ordering for the new Ford Expedition models begins on October 24th, with vehicles expected in showrooms by Spring 2025. More information about these models can be found on Ford's official website.
