All-New 2024 Maruti Suzuki Swift Deliveries Commence – New Engine, More Mileage

Maruti Suzuki has commenced the deliveries of the all-new next-generation Swift hatchback in India. This latest-gen Swift hatchback is priced at Rs 6.49 lakh (ex-showroom) and it is available in 11 variants.

At present, the bookings for the new-gen Maruti Suzuki Swift hatchback continues to be open despite the strong demand. Moreover, the booking amount for the new Swift has been capped at Rs 11,000.

2024 Maruti Suzuki Swift Deliveries Commence

One of the biggest changes in the new Swift hatchback is its powertrain. Gone is the rev-happy 1.2-litre, 4-cylinder, naturally-aspirated petrol engine. This engine now has been replaced by an all-new Z-series 1.2-litre, 3-cylinder, naturally-aspirated petrol engine.

Though this new engine sports 1 less cylinder compared to the older powertrain, it still manages to put out a respectable 80.46bhp at 5,700rpm and 111.7Nm of peak torque at 4,300rpm. However, like the previous model, the new Swift can be specified with either a 5-speed manual transmission or an AMT unit.

That being said, the new Z-Series 3-cylinder engine in the new Swift hatchback puts out approximately 8bhp less than the K-Series 4-cylinder engine in the older model. To overcome this power deficit, the new Maruti Suzuki Swift is a lot more fuel-efficient.

In fact, according to Maruti Suzuki, the manual variant returns a fuel efficiency figure of 24.80km/l, whereas the AGS variant is even more efficient with a mileage of 25.75km/l. Both of these figures are higher than previous-generation Swift hatchbacks.

In terms of features, the new Swift now comes with more features than ever before with features such as a bigger infotainment unit, rear AC vents, automatic climate control, and much more.

With the new Swift, Maruti Suzuki also seems to have stepped up the safety game as the model recently scored an impressive 4-star safety rating at the Japan NCAP crash tests.

It is also worth mentioning that Maruti Suzuki has also introduced the subscription model. According to the Indo-Japanese automaker, the subscription rentals for the new Swift hatchback starts at Rs 17,436.

DriveSpark Thinks

The new Maruti Suzuki Swift will be a successful product. However, it is yet to be seen if the new model could create the impact of its predecessors, especially considering the new model comes with a 3-cylinder engine.
