Tom Blomqvist drove the #60 Acura ARX-06 to lead in the second and fourth sessions, while Nick Yelloly topped the third session with his #93 Acura. This performance highlights Acura's competitive edge as they gear up for the upcoming season.

During race weekends, HRC US will manage and engineer the #93 Acura, while Meyer Shank Racing will handle the #60 ARX-06. This division of responsibilities aims to optimise team performance and leverage each group's strengths.

Colin Braun from Meyer Shank Racing expressed satisfaction with the testing process, stating, "I think it's been a really good test. There's a lot to cover from where we left off at the end of 2023, so the focus has been getting everyone from MSR and HRC integrated and up to speed."

Kakunoshin Ohta shared his experience: "After I heard I would be part of this test, we did a lot of preparation, in the simulator and getting ready so I would be confident with how to drive the car." He appreciated the support from his team and fellow drivers during his first drive.

Team Collaboration and Goals

Nick Yelloly emphasised teamwork: "Working with the guys and girls here and at the shop and with MSR has been fantastic and obviously with HRC." He noted that while lap times are important, their main focus is on thorough preparation for January's race.

David Salters, President of Honda Racing Corporation USA, highlighted their collaborative efforts: "So we're testing lots of new things on the ARX-06, back together with the MSR crew. This year is a massive opportunity for HRC associates to be engineering and running the #93 car."

Looking Ahead

The recent test marked the last official on-track activity for 2024. The 2025 IMSA WeatherTech SportsCar Championship kicks off in January at Daytona International Speedway. Both teams are optimistic about their readiness for this prestigious event.
