Acura Integra Type S And Honda Civic Si Dominate Podium At Road America

Celso Neto had a remarkable weekend at Road America, securing pole positions, fastest laps, and victories in the new Integra Type S. The SRO Motorsports Group's visit to Road America for rounds 9 and 10 of the 2024 season saw Acura and Honda teams achieving multiple wins and podium finishes in both TC America and Fanatec GT World Challenge America events.

In TC America's Saturday race, Celso Neto started strong by earning his first career pole in the Integra Type S. He maintained his lead despite early challenges and secured his second victory of the year. Cooper Broll, starting fourth, had a competitive race, swapping positions with the third-place car multiple times before finishing third and earning the Super Fuel Hard Charger award.

Sunday's race saw Neto again starting on pole with Broll in third. Broll made an impressive move into second place on lap one but faced technical issues later, allowing Christopher DeFreitas to secure third place. This marked another dual Acura podium as Neto claimed his third win in four races.

Alex Garcia continued his strong performance in the TCA class with his Honda Civic Si. He qualified second for Saturday’s race and finished third, marking his sixth consecutive podium. However, a suspension issue forced him to retire early from Sunday’s race after battling for second place.

The Racers Edge Motorsports Acura NSX GT3 showed impressive pace at Road America. Luca Mars set the fastest lap in practice and qualified third for Saturday’s race. Mars moved into second early on a drying track and took the lead before pitting. Despite a pit stop delay due to a seatbelt issue, co-driver Zach Veach managed to finish just 0.7 seconds behind the leader.

Sunday’s race was tougher for Mars and Veach as they started seventh and were pushed off-track on lap one. They recovered to finish fifth overall and third in class, marking their third consecutive podium finish.
