Abarth Classiche 1300 OT Revealed: Limited To Just 5 Units
Italian performance car marque Abarth has revealed the Classiche 1300 OT. The Abarth Classiche 1300 OT is the work of Abarth's Heritage "Reloaded by Creators" program.
The Abarth Classiche 1300 OT, has been designed to celebrate the iconic Fiat-Abarth OT 1300, a legendary racer from the 1960s. The Classiche 1300 OT like the 1000SP model from 2021, is limited to just 5 units.
In 1965, the Fiat-Abarth OT 1300 made headlines for its agility and power, characteristics that stemmed from a high-performing version of the Fiat 850. The modern day Abarth Classiche 1300 OT looks to capture that iconic performance with its carbon-fiber body that is based on the Alfa Romeo 4C sports car.
The Abarth Classiche 1300 OT takes its design cues from the original 1965 model, the limited-run special combines the past and present in a seamless fashion. It uses carbon fiber for the bodywork instead of the original's fibreglass shell. The car's distinctive features, such as the "periscope" for cooling and the rear grille with "Abarth" lettering, echo the original race car's design.
This limited-edition model, of which only five units will be produced, is mechanically based on the Abarth Classiche 1000 SP project, which itself was derived from the Alfa Romeo 4C. Like the special edition car from 2021 and the Alfa Romeo 4C, the engine under the bonnet is the 1.7-litre turbocharged 4-cylinder that produces 240bhp in the Alfa, which is enough to propel it to a top speed of 257km/h.
The Abarth Classiche 1300 OT offers car enthusiasts a rare opportunity to own a piece of automotive history, redefined with modern engineering and design. The vehicle is already available for order through the Stellantis Group's Heritage department. This common thread can be found in the brand's core values: superior performance, expert craftsmanship, and constant technical refinement-all of which were once represented by the brand's iconic forerunners, and today are an integral part of the new project from the Heritage "Reloaded by Creators" program.
Moreover, these are the same values which feature in the Scorpion's current lineup, which proves that Carlo Abarth's principles still serve as inspiration for the future.
