2026 Honda Passport TrailSport To Compete In Rebelle Rally Off-Road Challenge
The 2026 Honda Passport TrailSport is set to participate in the 2024 Rebelle Rally, an eight-day off-road event from October 11-19. This challenging competition will take place across the harsh desert landscapes of Nevada and California. The vehicle will be driven by two Honda associates, Adia Raya and Madison Russell, who are new to this all-women navigation event.
The Passport TrailSport, known for its durability, will compete in the X-Cross class with minimal changes. It will feature a special wrap displaying the TrailSport logo. The SUV's robust chassis, off-road suspension, and powerful engine remain unchanged for this event. The only modification is the addition of Maxxis RAZR All-Terrain tires.
Honda has been part of America's longest off-road rally for six years. The rally starts at Mammoth Mountain in California and spans over 1,500 miles to an undisclosed finish line. This event allows Honda engineers to test and enhance the off-road capabilities of their vehicles under extreme conditions.
Raya and Russell, representing team #208 "TrailSport Trekkers," are both engineers based in Ohio. Raya works at Honda East Liberty Auto Plant as a commercial quality product engineer, while Russell is a quality engineer at Honda North American Quality Center. They are part of the Honda of America Racing Team (HART), which is managed entirely by Honda associates.
The Rebelle Rally requires participants to navigate using traditional methods like paper maps and compasses instead of GPS or cellular devices. Teams aim to reach hidden checkpoints daily by accruing points through strategic navigation.
Honda's Commitment to Performance
Russell also serves as a crew member on the HART IMSA team and plays a key role as strategist and crew chief for the HART Road Race team. "We can’t wait to take the all-new Honda Passport TrailSport on one of America’s most demanding off-road competitions to show off its rugged capabilities," said Raya.
Honda's involvement in motorsport extends beyond this rally. The company offers a wide range of vehicles through over 1,000 U.S. dealers, including popular models like Civic and Accord. Their electrified lineup includes hybrid-electric versions of Accord and CR-V among others.
Honda's Legacy in Motorsports
Founded over three decades ago, HART is one of Honda's longest-running associate-driven programs in North America. It provides valuable experience through various motorsport events such as road racing and karting while contributing insights into developing future Honda products.
In 2023 alone, more than 99% of Hondas sold in the U.S were manufactured in North America with many built domestically using local parts alongside global ones—a testament to their commitment towards sustainable production practices within America itself.
The Rebelle Rally offers live tracking so fans can follow along online during its duration from October 11-19th—an exciting opportunity not just for competitors but also spectators worldwide interested in witnessing these incredible feats firsthand!
