2025 Volkswagen ID. Buzz Named Finalist In North American Car, Truck And Utility Vehicle Of The Year Awards

The 2025 Volkswagen ID. Buzz has been named a finalist in the Utility Vehicle of the Year category for the North American Car, Truck and Utility Vehicle of the Year Awards. The winners will be revealed at the Detroit Auto Show on January 10, 2025. This recognition highlights the vehicle's appeal and innovation in the utility segment.

Volkswagen of America expressed pride in being considered for this prestigious award. Andrew Savvas, Chief Sales and Marketing Officer for Volkswagen Brand North American Region, stated, "We are so honored to be in final contention for the prestigious NACTOY awards." He added that the ID. Buzz offers more than just transportation with its blend of retro design and modern technology.

ID. Buzz Finalist in NACTOY Awards

The ID. Buzz was among ten semi-finalists in September, including models like the Chevrolet Equinox EV and Honda Prologue. Seven of these vehicles are electric, reflecting significant changes in the utility market. The finalists were selected by a jury of 50 seasoned automotive journalists from across North America.

The awards aim to honour outstanding new vehicles based on criteria such as innovation, design, safety, handling, driver satisfaction, user experience, and value. These factors are crucial in determining which vehicles set benchmarks within their segments.

The 2025 ID. Buzz is a modern take on the classic Microbus, designed for an electric future. It features short overhangs and a long wheelbase thanks to its MEB architecture. The vehicle combines advanced EV technology with driver assistance features to enhance user experience.

All models come with a 91-kWh battery; rear-wheel-drive versions offer 282 horsepower with an EPA-estimated range of 234 miles. The 4Motion models provide 335 horsepower and an estimated range of 231 miles. Retro styling includes a large VW logo and vibrant two-tone exterior options.

Interior and Pricing Details

The spacious interior offers three colour themes: Moonlight, Dune, and Copper. Standard features include a 12.9-inch infotainment display, a 30-colour ambient lighting system, IQ.DRIVEĀ® technology, and Park Assist Plus with Memory Parking.

The Pro S Plus and 1st Edition trims add Easy Open sliding doors and tailgate, Harmon Kardon premium audio, and an electrochromic panoramic glass roof. With seating for up to seven passengers, it's ideal for families seeking both style and functionality.

The ID. Buzz will arrive at dealerships in December with pricing starting at $59,995 for Pro S models. This price excludes additional costs such as destination charges and taxes.

Volkswagen's Presence in North America

Volkswagen of America operates under Volkswagen Group of America, a subsidiary of Volkswagen AG headquartered in Reston, Virginia. They sell various models through over 600 independent U.S. dealers.

The company also runs an assembly facility in Chattanooga, Tennessee producing vehicles like the Atlas Cross Sport and ID.4. Globally, Volkswagen is one of the largest car producers and Europe's leading automaker.

This recognition underscores Volkswagen's commitment to innovation while honouring its legacy through modern designs like the ID. Buzz that cater to evolving consumer preferences.
