2025 Subaru Forester Receives IIHS TOP SAFETY PICK+ Award For Outstanding Safety Performance

The Insurance Institute for Highway Safety (IIHS) has awarded the 2025 Subaru Forester its highest accolade, the TOP SAFETY PICK+ rating. This recognition highlights the vehicle's superior crash safety and avoidance capabilities. Jeff Walters, President and COO of Subaru of America, Inc., stated, "The new 2025 Subaru Forester continues our long-running commitment to delivering vehicles designed to the highest safety standards. The Forester’s exceptional performance in safety evaluations is part of its history and what our customers expect from Subaru. Being recognized by the IIHS with its top rating is an honor."

To earn the prestigious TOP SAFETY PICK+ award, vehicles must achieve "Good" ratings in small overlap front and updated side tests. They also need an "Acceptable" or "Good" rating in pedestrian front crash prevention and headlights rated as acceptable or good across all trims. Additionally, a moderate front crash test requires at least an "Acceptable" rating.

2025 Subaru Forester Earns Top Safety Award

Since 2007, the Subaru Forester has been honoured with the IIHS TOP SAFETY PICK award 18 times, more than any other small SUV. As of December 2024, Subaru has also accumulated more TOP SAFETY PICK+ awards than any other brand since 2013. This achievement underscores Subaru's dedication to safety excellence.

The 2025 Subaru Forester is available in several trims: Base, Premium, Sport, Limited, and Touring. It starts at $29,695 and is currently available at retailers nationwide. The new model boasts a sleek exterior design and a quieter interior for enhanced comfort.

All trim levels of the 2025 Forester come equipped with Subaru's EyeSight® Driver Assist Technology as standard. This includes Advanced Adaptive Cruise Control with Lane Centering and Steering Responsive LED headlights. The vehicle also features Subaru’s Symmetrical All-Wheel Drive System for improved control.

Additional active safety options include Reverse Automatic Braking, Blind-Spot Detection with Lane Change Assist, Rear Cross Traffic Alert, and Emergency Stop Assist. These features contribute to the Forester's comprehensive safety package.

The 2024 IIHS TOP SAFETY PICK award does not apply to the previous year's Forester model but recognises the advancements made in the 2025 version.
