2025 MG Gloster Facelift SUV Spied Testing: New Front End, Features & More
The upcoming 2025 MG Gloster SUV has been spotted testing by the DriveSpark team. Though the spied MG Gloster test mule is wearing heavy camouflage, we do know what MG Motor India has in store for us.
So, analysing the spied images, we can say that the upcoming 2025 MG Gloster SUV to sport similar exterior design elements as the recently facelifted Maxus D90 SUV (rebadged version of the MG Gloster) sold in Australia.
This means, the 2025 MG Gloster SUV will feature a split headlamp setup, much like the MG Hector SUV. However, the lighting elements in LED headlamps will be stacked vertically and the model is likely to feature a very large octagonal front grille.
That being said, the side and rear profile of the 2025 MG Gloster is likely to remain more or less similar to the outgoing model, albeit with a few changes to taillamp graphics and alloy wheel design.
Also, thanks to the substantial revision made to the front of the Gloster, expect the 2025 MG Gloster to have much more road presence than the outgoing model. As such, we expect the 2025 MG Gloster to become the new favourite SUV among politicians.
Coming to the interior, we expect the 2025 MG Gloster SUV to have the same interior as the recently facelifted Maxus D90 SUV in Australia. If so, the 2025 Gloster SUV will ditch the traditional gear lever for a rotary gear selector.
Moreover, the 2025 MG Gloster will also feature a more advanced fully digital instrument panel, and redesigned dashboard with bigger AC vents. Along with these changes, we also expect the model to feature a more advanced Level-2 ADAS suite.
That being said, powertrain options are likely to remain the same as the outgoing model with two diesel engine options - Single Turbo, and Bi-Turbo. Also, the model will be available in both 2WD and 4WD variants.
At present, the single-turbo variant uses a 2.0-litre diesel engine with 160bhp and 375Nm, whereas the twin-turbo variant puts out 212.5bhp and 480Nm. Also, an 8-speed automatic gearbox is common to both powertrain options.
Though the powertrain in the MG Gloster SUV is plenty powerful, MG could even introduce a new powertrain with partial electrification for better efficiency and performance in the upcoming 2025 Gloster facelifted version.
