2025 Kia K4: A Compact Sedan With Advanced Technology And Class-Leading Space
The 2025 Kia K4 has been introduced in the Texas Hill Country, offering media a chance to test its performance on diverse roads. This event highlights Kia's dedication to creating sporty sedans with advanced technology. "The all-new K4 advances Kia’s commitment to deliver sporty sedans with advanced technology and elevated performance," stated Steven Center, COO and EVP of Kia America.
The K4 is available in five trims: LX, LXS, EX, GT-Line, and GT-Line Turbo. It features wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto as standard. The car also offers a nearly 30-inch digital display for enhanced visibility. Additional options include Digital Key 2.0, Harman Kardon audio, heated seats, and a sunroof.
The K4's design follows Kia's "Opposites United" philosophy, featuring bold proportions that make a strong visual impact. Tom Kearns, chief designer at Kia Design Center America, noted the creative tension between the fastback roofline and wide stance. The car measures 185.4 inches long and 72.8 inches wide, making it the largest in its class.
Rear passengers benefit from 38 inches of legroom, while LED headlights and taillights draw inspiration from the EV9 model. Hidden rear door handles enhance its sleek appearance. The trunk offers 14.6 cubic feet of cargo space.
The K4's interior sets a new standard for compact sedans with its integrated digital instrumentation. This feature is part of the Connected Car Navigation Cockpit (ccNC) system, which debuted in the EV9 model. The system includes wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto as standard features across all models.
Available on GT-Line models is myQ Connected Garage, allowing drivers to control garage doors remotely via the vehicle's touchscreen display. Digital Key 2.0 enables compatible smart devices to function as virtual keys for locking and unlocking the car.
Powertrain Options: Strong Choices
The front-wheel-drive K4 offers two engine choices: a 2.0-litre four-cylinder producing 147 horsepower or an optional 1.6-litre turbocharged engine delivering 190 horsepower through an eight-speed automatic transmission.
The GT-Line Turbo variant includes paddle shifters and sport pedals for an engaging driving experience. A multi-link rear suspension exclusive to GT-Line models enhances lateral stiffness for sportier handling.
Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS)
Kia has expanded its ADAS offerings in the K4 to boost driver confidence. Standard features include Intelligent Speed Limit Assist and Lane Keeping Assist. Forward Collision Avoidance helps detect vehicles or pedestrians ahead.
The GT-Line Turbo model adds Forward Collision Avoidance 2 for detecting crossing vehicles at intersections. Evasive Steering Assist can help avoid collisions by assisting steering if there's space available in the lane.
Availability and Warranty
The K4 is now available with a 10-year/100,000-mile limited powertrain warranty from Kia America. Details on pricing and fuel economy will be announced later.
