2025 Corvette ZR1 Sets New Benchmark With 0-60 Time Of Just 2.3 Seconds
The 2025 Corvette ZR1 is the fastest Corvette to date, boasting 1,064 horsepower. With the ZTK Performance Package, it accelerates from 0 to 60 mph in just 2.3 seconds. The ZR1 completes a quarter mile in 9.6 seconds with this package. Without it, the standard model reaches 60 mph in 2.5 seconds and covers a quarter mile in 9.7 seconds.
Josh Holder, chief engineer of Corvette, stated, "The 2025 Corvette ZR1 yet again exceeded our expectations." He highlighted its top speed of 233 mph, unmatched by any production car under $1 million. This makes the ZR1 a powerful grand touring vehicle and an exceptional track tool.
The ZR1 with the ZTK package features a high-downforce Carbon Fiber Aero Package and Michelin Pilot Sport Cup 2R tires for superior grip. This combination allows it to reach 60 mph quickly. The standard aero version achieves a quarter mile trap speed of 152 mph, which is slightly faster than the ZTK-equipped model.
Corvette’s standard Launch Control and Custom Launch Control systems are key to its rapid acceleration. These systems manage tire spin and transmission clutch application automatically for quick launches. Drivers can also adjust launch RPM and wheel slip targets using steering wheel controls for optimal performance.
The tests were conducted using 93 octane pump fuel on a non-prepped drag strip surface. This ensures that the results reflect real-world conditions rather than ideal scenarios.
Engine Specifications
The heart of the ZR1 is a 5.5L twin-turbocharged LT7 DOHC flat-plane crank V8 engine. It produces an impressive 1,064 horsepower at 7,000 rpm and generates 828 lb-ft of torque at 6,000 rpm according to SAE guidelines. This engine is the most powerful V8 ever produced by an American auto manufacturer.
This eighth-generation Corvette sets new benchmarks for American automotive engineering with its top speed capabilities and power output.
Comparative Acceleration Times
When comparing acceleration times across different models: the Stingray with the available Z51 package accelerates from 0 to 60 mph in 2.9 seconds; the Z06 with the available Z07 package does so in 2.6 seconds; while the E-Ray matches the standard ZR1 at 2.5 seconds.
