The BMW 2 Series Gran Coupe, known for its sporty elegance, has been further refined in its second generation. The new model boasts a standard M Sport exterior design, enhancing its dynamic look. Updated powertrains and Adaptive M Suspension contribute to an exhilarating driving experience. The interior features the latest BMW iDrive with QuickSelect, powered by BMW Operating System 9, offering a modern digital experience.

Production of the 2025 BMW 2 Series Gran Coupe is set to commence at BMW's Leipzig plant in late 2024. The market launch is scheduled for March 2025. Initially, two models will be available in the US: the 241-hp 228 xDrive Gran Coupe starting at $41,600 plus $1,175 destination and handling fee, and the high-performance 312-hp M235 xDrive Gran Coupe starting at $49,500 plus $1,175 destination and handling fee.

The exterior of the new BMW 2 Series Gran Coupe showcases an expressive front section and a dynamically elongated silhouette. It has grown by 0.7 inches in length to 179.2 inches while maintaining a wheelbase of 105.1 inches. The width remains at 70.9 inches, but the height has increased by one inch to 56.9 inches, providing ample space for up to five passengers and their luggage.

The front apron features large air intakes below the wide kidney grille, with headlights extending into the front fenders. Two vertically aligned LED units serve as side marker lights, daytime running lights, and turn indicators. An illuminated kidney grille with contour lighting will be available from March 2025 for a striking nighttime appearance.

The interior of the new BMW 2 Series Gran Coupe is entirely leather-free, featuring Perforated Veganza in four colours as standard. Heated sports seats are standard, with massaging Active Front Seats available as an option. The dashboard includes contrasting stitching with Veganza/Alcantara trim available through the M Sport Package.

The interior also boasts dynamically backlit trims made from milled aluminium and a Curved Display featuring BMW iDrive with QuickSelect based on Operating System 9. This setup highlights the tech-forward character of the cabin. The optional M Sport Package adds details like M Illuminated Aluminium Hexacube Matte trim or Illuminated Aluminium Graphite trim.

Engine Performance and Efficiency

The revised drivetrain portfolio ensures superior driving pleasure and efficiency in the new BMW 2 Series Gran Coupe. The engines belong to the latest Efficient Dynamics family, focusing on reducing fuel consumption while delivering strong power output.

The heavily revised B48A20O2 engine underpins the performance of the 228 xDrive Gran Coupe. This engine produces 241 hp between 4,500-6,500 rpm and offers substantial torque of up to 295 lb-ft between 1,500-4,000 rpm. Paired exclusively with a new seven-speed Dual Clutch Transmission (DCT), it accelerates from zero to sixty mph in just 5.8 seconds.

Suspension Technology

The suspension technology in the new BMW 2 Series Gran Coupe has been extensively revised for enhanced driving dynamics and comfort balance. Increased body structure rigidity improves agility and steering precision while solid axle support bearings enhance cornering dynamics.

New shock absorber technology reduces roll during dynamic cornering for improved ride comfort. Model-specific chassis components ensure precise handling through advanced control systems like near-actuator wheel slip limitation integrated into braking systems.

M235 xDrive Gran Coupe Highlights

The M235 xDrive Gran Coupe stands out with its specific design elements such as an M design grille with horizontal bars and quad tailpipes signaling high performance potential.

This model features a powerful version of a four-cylinder engine producing up to312 hp between5 ,750-6 ,500 rpm along with maximum torque availability between2000 -4500rpm .The combination enables acceleration from zero-to-sixty mph within just4 .7seconds .
