2025 Acura RDX Unveils Sophisticated Styling And Enhanced Technology
Acura has unveiled the refreshed 2025 RDX performance SUV, enhancing its popular 5-passenger model with sophisticated styling, an updated cabin, and advanced technology. The new "frameless" Diamond Pentagon grille and aggressive grille mesh give the vehicle a more distinctive appearance. Additionally, the redesigned center console now offers increased storage, larger cupholders, and easier access to the wireless smartphone charger.
"This is the most premium RDX we've ever made," said Mike Langel, assistant vice president of Acura National Sales. "Our Acura performance SUV lineup has never been stronger as we continue to deliver on our commitment to advancing Precision Crafted Performance throughout the Acura lineup."
The 2025 RDX features a more aggressive exterior design with a "frameless" Diamond Pentagon grille and sportier wheel designs. Standard models come with Berlina Black 19-inch wheels, while the Advance Package includes exclusive body-color lower exterior trim and redesigned Berlina Black Machine-finished 19-inch wheels. The A-Spec trims offer a sportier look with blacked-out exterior treatments and new 20-inch wheels.
Three new paint colours are available for the 2025 RDX: Solar Silver Metallic, Canyon River Blue Metallic, and Urban Gray Pearl. These colours are also offered on the extensively refreshed 2025 MDX.
The interior of the RDX has been upgraded with a redesigned center console that provides more storage space and larger cupholders. The standard 10.2-inch HD center display now includes a wide-screen mode for wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto™ compatibility. Top-tier trims like the Advance Package feature full-leather upholstery and additional ambient lighting on the new center console.
The cabin also boasts signature Acura elements such as JewelEye® LED headlights and "Chicane" LED daytime running lights. The turbocharged 2.0-liter VTEC® 4-cylinder engine delivers 272 hp and 280 lb.-ft. of torque, paired with a sport-tuned 10-speed automatic transmission.
Performance and Safety
The RDX's power is distributed through Acura's Super Handling All-Wheel Drive™ system with true torque vectoring. This rear-biased system can send up to 70% of torque to the rear axle and 100% to the outside rear wheel for superior line trace. The vehicle also features a sport-tuned suspension, standard 19-inch wheels (with available 20-inch options), and an Adaptive Damper System with three damping profiles.
Safety is paramount in the RDX, which includes the proprietary ACE™ body structure and AcuraWatch™ suite of advanced safety technologies as standard features. These include blind spot information (BSI), Lane Keeping Assist System (LKAS), Adaptive Cruise Control (ACC) with Low Speed Follow, Collision Mitigation Braking System™ (CMBS™), Road Departure Mitigation (RDM) system, Forward Collision Warning (FCW) system, Lane Departure Warning (LDW) System, Traffic Sign Recognition, and Rear Cross Traffic Monitor.
High-Tech Interior
The high-tech interior of the RDX includes a standard 10.2-inch HD center display with True Touchpad Interface™, wireless Apple CarPlay & Android Auto™ compatibility, and available Qi-compatible wireless charging. The driver-focused cabin offers open-pore wood accents, Milano leather seats, and 16-way power adjustable front seats for added comfort.
The Acura Iconic Drive™ ambient lighting system provides 27 unique interior lighting colour combinations inspired by iconic driving destinations worldwide. An available ELS STUDIO 3D® premium audio system enhances the listening experience for all passengers.
Manufacturing Excellence
The third-generation Acura RDX is designed and developed in America alongside the MDX at Acura's East Liberty Auto Plant in Ohio. Its powerful turbo engine is produced at Anna Engine Plant in Ohio, while the SH-AWD™ system is manufactured at Honda Transmission Plant in Ohio. The vehicle was recently named among Cars.com's Top 12 most American-made vehicles.
Since its market debut in 2006, nearly 800,000 units of the Acura RDX have been sold. This year alone has seen sales increase by over 25%, making it one of the fastest-growing models in its segment.
The updated RDX will be available at Acura dealers nationwide later this month.
