2024 Maruti Suzuki Swift Conversion: A Budget-Friendly Base-Spec To Top-Spec Upgrade
The 2024 Swift has caught the attention of car enthusiasts across India since its launch on 9 May. Among the buzz, a notable highlight is the base to top conversion of this all-new model, showcased in a YouTube video by MRD Cars.
The transformation, costing merely Rs. 50,000, has sparked considerable interest for its affordability and the range of enhancements it introduces to the base LXi variant, which originally comes with minimal features.

The modifications begin with the exterior. The halogen headlights have been replaced with LEDs, aiming to mimic the appearance of the ZXi + Dual Tone variant's top-end look. Though fog lights weren't added to this model, significant upgrades include electrically adjustable and foldable ORVMs, integrating the indicators for a sleeker profile.
However, alloy wheels and painted door handles are pending updates, while reverse parking sensors are complemented with a newly added camera. The taillights remain unchanged, and the roof now boasts a glossy black wrap to further achieve the ZXi + Dual Tone aesthetic.
Interior enhancements are equally impressive. Acknowledging the Swift's standard six airbags, airbag-friendly seat covers crafted from premium materials have been installed. A major tech upgrade is the 9-inch touchscreen infotainment system, featuring wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, despite its fit and finish being less than ideal.
The possibility of adding a rear wiper, washer, and defogger was mentioned, albeit requiring a windshield replacement. Chrome elements, a high-end steering wheel with multimedia and cruise control, and various other modifications like a front skid plate and rear spoiler are among the potential additions.

MRD Cars also noted that official Maruti accessories, including the 9-inch infotainment system and a 360-degree camera setup, can be integrated into the Swift. While these modifications present an appealing option for those with a base model budget, the video stresses the importance of considering material quality and the impact of these changes on the car's longevity and owner experience.
