2024 Nissan Qashqai Facelift Gets Agressive & More Techy

Japanese carmaker Nissan has updated its Qashqai SUV with an extensive facelift and technology refresh. The 2024 Nissan Qashqai facelift brings with it an agressive design and boatload of tech upgrades as it looks to take the fight to the likes of the Hyundai Tucson and Kia Sportage in Europe.

The changes to the design of the 2024 Nissan Qashaqi are quitebold with the the sharper lines and agressive front end especially the bold grille with black gloss scales reminiding you of Japanese armour.

The grille is flanked on either side by the sharp new headlight module which includes a sharp new adapative high-beam and a smaller unit for wider beam distribution. There are 5 comma-shaped daytime running lights below while the upper DRL element also acts as the sequential turn indicator.

The front and rear bumpers have been updated as well and can be found in either gloss black or in body colour, though the latter option is limited to the the N-Design trim level that has arrived with the facelifted 2024 Qashqai. The N-Design trim also brings in 20-inch alloy wheels while other variants get 18 or 19-inch units.

The new infotainment system is powered by powered by Google's Android Automotive OS, similar to what we've seen before with Nissan's alliance partner Renualt as well as with Volvo.

The widescreen touchscreen infotainment system incorporates Google Maps and offers access to over 70 apps including Waze and Spotify, along with Google's voice assistant and wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto interfaces. The setup also supports over-the-air updates.

Safety enhancements include a suite of driver assistance systems such as driver-drowsiness alert, autonomous emergency braking, and emergency lane-keeping assist. Nissan has also upgraded the Qashqai's camera quality for its Around View Monitor, whil there are new connected features like remote locking and a stolen-vehicle tracker.

Despite these comprehensive updates, the Qashqai's engine options remain the same, offering a choice between a mild-hybrid petrol engine and the innovative e-Power technology. The 187bhp e-Power model stands out by using its electric motor to drive the wheels directly, with a petrol engine generating electricity for the motor.
