2024 Mitsubishi Pajero Sport Launched – Prices Start At "Rs 32 Lakh", Plenty Of Upgrades
The 2024 Mitsubishi Pajero Sport has made its debut in Thailand, sparking interest among automotive enthusiasts in India. Despite Mitsubishi discontinuing its manufacturing operations in India, the brand remains respected, largely due to the legacy of models like the Pajero Sport.
This launch comes at a time when Mitsubishi has reinforced its market presence in India through a joint venture with TVS Mobility, although no plans for reintroducing manufacturing or importing cars directly have been announced.

The new Pajero Sport faces stiff competition from vehicles like the Toyota Fortuner, MG Gloster, and Isuzu MU-X SUV. With prices ranging between THB 1,389,000 and THB 1,689,000, which roughly translates to Rs 32 lakh to Rs 39 lakh. Moreover, the latest iteration of the SUV offers a series of updates over its predecessor.
That being said, the 2024 Pajero Sport retains its familiar shape but introduces a series of cosmetic and functional enhancements. The exterior boasts a brand-new grille and bi-LED projector headlights equipped with auto-beam leveling. It also features updated LED DRLs, fog lights, and rear combination LED tail lights.

Furthermore, the 2024 Mitsubishi Pajero Sport SUV now sits on stylish 18-inch wheels and enjoys increased ground clearance, moving from 217 mm to 222 mm, enhancing its robust stance. Interior modifications are equally impressive. A new steering wheel design, borrowed from the 3rd generation Triton pickup truck, is a notable addition.
The vehicle is equipped with a large infotainment screen supporting wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, an 8-inch instrument screen, and plush leather upholstery. Comfort is prioritized with electrically adjustable front seats, auto-dimming IRVM, keyless entry, and a push-button start among other features.

Under the hood, the Pajero Sport introduces a new 2.4-litre 4-cylinder turbo diesel engine that delivers 182bhp and 430Nm of peak torque. This engine is paired with a new 6-speed automatic gearbox from the Triton pickup, replacing the old 8-speed unit. Buyers can choose between rear-wheel drive (RWD) and all-wheel drive (AWD) configurations.
Safety hasn't been overlooked, with the inclusion of seven airbags and an Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS) suite. Entertainment for rear-seat passengers is catered for with a 12.1-inch roof-mounted drop-down screen and wireless headphones, ensuring a comfortable journey for all occupants.
The 2024 Mitsubishi Pajero Sport clearly aims to maintain its iconic status with these updates, offering a compelling package for SUV buyers. While it's not currently available in India, its features and enhancements keep the enthusiasts hopeful for a future launch in the country.
