2024 Maruti Suzuki Swift Production Likely To Commence Next Month – New Hybrid Engine & More
It's an exciting time for Maruti Suzuki enthusiasts as the automaker gears up for one of its most anticipated launches in India - the all-new Swift. The upcoming Swift is internally referred to as Maruti YED.
The upcoming Swift is not just on the horizon; it's already hit Indian roads for testing, signalling its imminent arrival in the market. This fresh iteration of the Swift is said to roll off the production lines next month.

Like its predecessor, the new Swift will be manufactured at Maruti Suzuki's Hansalpur plant in Gujarat. The Swift has cemented its place as a staple on Indian roads, with sales averaging around 18,000 units monthly.
As such, expectations are high for the new model, with a production aim that is more than the current monthly average sales. However, the precise launch date in India remains under wraps, but we expect the model to be launched by April 2024.

Maruti Suzuki has consistently delivered on the Swift's sporty aesthetic, a hallmark of the hatchback since its inception. The new-gen Swift, which recently premiered in Japan, maintains the iconic design language but with a more refined and edgier look.
The latest model appears to retain the dimensions of its predecessor but has grown by 15mm in length, shrunk by 40mm in width, and gained 30mm in height. It's worth noting, however, that the Indian variant might exhibit subtle differences in styling and size.

Step inside the 2024 Maruti Suzuki Swift, and you'll be greeted by a cabin that echoes the design sensibilities of the Baleno and Fronx, albeit with distinct touches affirming its unique identity. Akin to its stablemates, the new Swift features a floating touchscreen, a contemporary steering wheel, and a crisp instrument cluster.
Under the bonnet, the new Swift will be powered by Suzuki's Z12 engine, a 1.2-litre petrol powerplant primed for its India debut. This engine, which also powered the showcased model in Japan, is expected to arrive in India with mild-hybrid technology.

Breaking from the launch pattern of the previous-generation models, Maruti Suzuki has chosen to introduce the new Swift ahead of the Dzire. By doing so, the company aims to "re-establish" Swift's presence in the Indian market.
As the anticipation builds, Maruti Suzuki continues to make headlines, with plans for exporting EVs to Japan and Europe in 2024 and joining the small car EV race by 2026-'27 to compete with the likes of Tiago EV.
