2024 Hyundai Alcazar Facelift Vs Old Alcazar: Top Things To Know

Hyundai has unveiled the updated Alcazar, which will be available from September 9. The new model features significant changes both inside and out, rather than just minor tweaks. This article explores how the facelifted Alcazar differs from its predecessor in terms of design, features, powertrain options, and pricing.

Hyundai Alcazar Design: New vs Old

The exterior of the new Alcazar boasts H-shaped LED Daytime Running Lamps connected by a light bar and a larger grille with horizontal slats. It now includes quad-beam LED headlamps, replacing the trio-beam units of the previous version. The pre-facelift model had different grille designs for petrol and diesel versions.

At the rear, the SUV now features full-width tail-lamps similar to those on the Venue, with a prominent H motif. These new lights and redesigned bumpers give it a more squared-off appearance compared to its predecessor. Additionally, it comes with newly designed 18-inch alloy wheels and functional roof rails.

Hyundai Alcazar Interior: New vs Old

Inside, the Alcazar facelift retains the dashboard layout introduced in the Creta facelift earlier this year. The two 10.25-inch screens are now conjoined, and the middle AC vents have been repositioned below the screen.

The HVAC controls have also been updated, and the centre tunnel now has a metallic finish. The dual-tone theme continues but has shifted from cognac brown and black to noble brown and haze navy.

Both 6- and 7-seater configurations remain available; however, the fixed centre console between captain seats in the pre-facelift model has been removed. This change provides more space between seats, allowing easier access to the third row.

New features include ADAS Level 2, cooled rear seats, a wireless charger for the second row, an 8-way powered co-driver's seat, extendable thigh support for middle seats, and larger second-row headrests with adjustable extensions.

Hyundai Alcazar Powertrains: New vs Old

The facelifted Alcazar will continue to offer the same engine options as before: a 1.5-litre turbo-petrol engine producing 160hp and 253Nm of torque paired with either a 6-speed manual or an optional 7-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission; and a 1.5-litre diesel engine generating 116hp and 250Nm of torque mated to either a 6-speed manual or a 6-speed automatic transmission. Both engines come with front-wheel drive configuration.

Hyundai Alcazar Price: New vs Old

The pre-facelift Alcazar is priced between Rs 16.78 lakh and Rs 21.28 lakh (ex-showroom). Pricing for the facelifted model will be announced on September 9. Given all these updates, a slight price increase is expected. The new model will be available in four trim levels: Executive (new entry-level), Prestige, Platinum, and Signature.

In summary, Hyundai's latest update to the Alcazar brings substantial improvements in design and features while retaining its robust powertrain options. The enhancements make it a compelling choice for those seeking a versatile three-row SUV.
